  • Service was fast and very friendly. We ordered combo A, 23.99 for 2 persons. Tea came immediately, followed by 4 complimentary side dishes, kimchi, fish cake, bamboo shoots and sweet potatoes which we liked the best. We chose bulgogi (very tasty dish) and Galbi which was tasty but just a little chewy. This came with two large bowls of steaming hot rice. For our third dish we chose the steamed dumplings. Tasty, tender and good with a slightly salty sauce on the side. Our first time trying Korean food - usually we got Indian or Chinese. Not our favorite meal ever, but good value. well prepared and enjoyable. We plan on returning to try the seafood pancake and bimbimap.

  • Order: dumplings, bulgogi & galbi

  • The portions were ok, but the meat was cut up very finely to make it look like there was a lot. The side dishes came out plentifiul. Service was intentive but not very personal at first. In 30 mins the place was packed with people waiting for a table. You could tell that the waiters were impatient with us; a bunch of high schoolers and wanted us out. They practically kicked us out when we were almost done. The location is a bit hidden and quite ... a turn-off, but definately worth trying out.

P.S. - the tea is atrocious. It seems like a boarderline between green tea and coffee.

  • Order: Combo for 5 (bulgogi, hot pot, teriyaki beef, kimchi pork, squid)

Just for the record - bulgogi is supposed to be cut up very finely. I'm not sure why - my family has always made it that way and all of the good restaurants do it that way. If it's thick, it's not bulgogi.

  • I read a review of this restaurant in the KW Record; otherwise I don't think I'd have found it/tried it. Tucked away in a plaza. Doesn't look clean. Furniture very tired. Food, on the other hand, is terrific. The combo B will fill two hungry people and it tastes great. Just don't want to imagine the state of the kitchen.

  • Order: Combo B and hot and sour soup

  • We always pick combo B (4 plates for 3 persons) and have tried all the dishes offered. Can't remember the specific dish now, but they were all good in my opinion - some are better than others, but I like the value and the authentic Korean food. Owners were nice as well, price were about $40 for 3 persons

It's in the Hong Kong plaza, never would've found it but walked in one day and have re-visited a few times, anytime I want Korean.

  • Order: 3-person 4-plates combo B

  • This place is a little treasure. It's tucked away and doesn't look to be anything special - but that is usually how to distinguish an authentic find. We sat down and were greeted with warm, ricey flavoured tea. Then the owner (I am assuming) brought us the 4 complimentary appetizer dishes - bean sprout salad, little cubes of sweet potatoes in a brown miso sauce, fish cakes in a flavourful sauce and traditional kimchi. mmmm to all of them, especially the potatoes.
My fiance had the Korean BBQ galbi (shortribs) which came with a side of steamed rice. They came on a sizzling plate.
My order was fantastic. A spicy soybean tofu soup. The broth was aromatic and flavourful and came bubbling in front of me. I also got a small bowl of steamed rice on the side.
We were brought an extra serving of each of the wonderful side dishes and if you want more after that they are only $1 each!
Well worth the trip here. Our meal only cost $25 and satisfied our hunger and palates.
    Delicious - go now.

  • Order: 4 complimentary appetizer dishes Soybean tofu soup with seaweed and green onions. BBQ galbi steamed rice

  • The location is not the greatest and the locals that loiter near by look like the came right out of a movie...but when you taste the food....you forget all that. I have eaten there a few times and always enjoy it. If you get the chance read the new clipping they have posted on the wall.

  • Order: Chicken Teriyaki to go.

  • It's too bad that less mature people review this restaurant with 1/10 scores. I've had Korean food before, but it was hardly this authentic. Everything that came to our table tasted absolutely fantastic, and the price - considering how much we were served - was truly impressive. If you want to try something different than the standard fare, look into this place. Even the Kimchi was decent, and that's coming from someone who hates Kimchi.

  • Order: Dinner for five, including Chicken and Vegetables in hot sauce, various stir fries, kimchi, dumplings, etc

  • Their food is pretty good. Very flavourful. And I'm inclined to believe that they really don't use MSG 'cause I didn't feel thristy after eating there.

The hot plate series were perhaps the most attractive dishes (chicken/beef/veal ribs/squid/octopus/pork). Pork bone soup is good too. My wife loves the seafood pancake but compared to other dishes I found it a bit bland, but nonetheless it's a unique dish.

And the stone pot rice wasn't so good. I'd recommand just picking a few items from the combo menu and have them with plain steamed rice. I can tell that the rice they use are of high quality. It tastes a bit like sushi rice and is better than most rice you'd get in Chinese cusines.

And there's no way in hell that they'd be serving dog meat. Dog meat tastes like lamb and would not be confused with pork.

  • Order: I have been there a couple times and have pretty much tried most of their non-vegetarian items on the menu...

  • This is a very authentic casual Mom and Pop's type Korean restaurant. You can have free refills on the side dishes that accompany your meal and the water refills are self serve, again like in Korea. We felt like we were back in Korea as there were many students speaking Korean. The food is very authentic and the Kimchi Jjigae is outstanding. The Gamja Tang is just not very good.

  • Order: Kimchi Jjigae (spicy kimchi/tofu/pork stew) and Gamja Tang (spicy potato and back bone stew) the first time. Kimchi Jjigae and Mae Une Tang (spicy fish stew) the second time.

  • All the food is great. The hot-plate dishes are addictive! (H1-H5) H2 and H3 are my fav's. The soups are good if you want more Korean-like authentic cuisine (Potato & Big Bone soup is my fav). Be warned, there is no table-top/inset bbq like the ones you'd expect in Markham/Toronto...

  • Order: I visit here weekly.. The Spicy Chicken or Pork'n'Kimchi on the hot plate are my favourites. As with the Pig Bone Soup. For appetizers, try the seafood pancake thing, or the steamed dumplings!
