MANGO RESTAURANT

We ordered take out at Mango because it was getting late in the evening and we wanted some good food fast. We were told that our meal would be ready in 15 minutes. However, it took over 45 minutes to receive our meal, and we ended up dodging the staff who were going in and out of the kitchen for about 1/2 hour while waiting for our food in the restaurant. No accommodations were made, and we were told it would be 'a few minutes' by various people at various times.

I do appreciate that it was busy. However, the most frustrating thing was that although it was busy, and it was taking a long time for food to be prepared, two other workers kept on telling people on the phone who were ordering that their food will be ready in 15 minutes - obviously not true and insincere (since multiple people had been waiting longer than 30 minutes before and after we arrived)!

I would save yourself the hassle and try the Wok In at Montreal and Princess, just a couple steps from the Mango when you want take-out. The food is good, and not nearly as expensive as Mango (and the Wok In is not as stingy as the Mango by charging you for rice which you would obviously have with your dishes). The couple that work there are very warm, and there is definitely a more authentic appeal there, rather than the insincere service we had at Mango. We made the mistake thinking that the Wok In was closed today...we will not make that same mistake again.

This was our second visit to Mango. It was an awesome experience. The food was great, the service awesome and above all else, the price was perfect, under $90 for 6.

I have been to Mango a number of times, with as few as 2 people or as many as 8, and the service has always been up to par. There are always very few staff members at one time, but they are always friendly and attentive (but not overly so). Also very affordable.

I almost always have the House Pad Thai (with tofu, chicken and shrimp, sweet tea and deep fried bananas with honey.

The pad thai is delicious, flavourful, and comes in the perfect portion. The sweet tea is very sugary and milky, but I have come to enjoy it as a contrast to the flavour of the pad thai. The deep fried bananas with honey are a nice light finish to the meal (when I have room left, that is).

I will continue to eat there over and over, and have never had the stomach troubles that other reviewers have mentioned.

We've tried this place a few times and have yet to leave satisfied. There is a huge level of inconsistency with the portion size and quality of the food. And, yeah, like the other poster the last time we were there I was sick a few hours later.
The really crappy part was the service though. We were in for a weekend lunch and the place was pretty busy. They only had ONE server on and she was running around like a chicken with her head cut off. She was mixing drinks, answering the phone, working the cash register, taking orders, carrying food out... Ridiculous. How can a girl provide any quality of service when she's stuck doing everything herself?
It took forever to get our springrolls and they were okay. Nothing special, just decent typical springrolls. The pad thai was far too spicy and chicken dish we ordered was mostly sauce. Totally NOT worth it!

Had take out for lunch. Menu on internet is not accurate. My simple noodle and beef dish cost me over $12 w/taxes (was $8.95 on internet) .

N5 was my order.

Food tasted alright, nothing nearing $12 worth though, much better values to be had elsewhere .

Kitchen looked clean however, four hours after eating the lunch I had MAJOR problems in the bathroom (if you know what I mean)..obviously they have a problem in the way they handle their food (at least the beef) .

Will not return.

Always a lovely meal. We've only been at lunchtimes but there's usually a 'special' and the food is served in an attractive way - always colourful and appetizing. Excellent value, too.

Their calamari is the best ever. Green Curry is fantastic. Highly recommeded. Love MANGO.
