The food tasted alright but the service sucked because the waitress forgot our drinks! And the pumpkin pasta portion was so tiny!!! I wasn't even full!! Not as great as I expected!!
- Order: pumpkin pasta? (forget the exact name)

Ive been to Atomica about 4 times so far this summer and I have to say I havent been disappointed with any of my meals. The have a great wine selection and cocktails and make a very good sangria.
The servers are usually attentive and friendly and check in often enough. No complaints there except when the staff crowds around the bar chatting. I can understand regular work banter but its just kinda awkward for the people eating 4 feet away.
I still prefer the pizza at woodenheads for both freshness and overall flavour. I will go back to Atomica but it is usually a result of Woodenheads being over booked.

We visited Atomica for the first time last Sunday evening. It was recommended by a server at the terrace where we had some drinks before eating.
From the moment we entered the establishment we loved the place.
It was fairly full with diners, but we were seen by the hostess and seated within 30 seconds. The waitress was very pleasant and told us the dinner special right away. service was extremely good.
The pizza was the best that we have ever tasted, and our substitution request was carried out without question. (I asked for spicy sauce and hot peppers to be added to my meal).
We live north of Trenton, (100 Kms away), but we will definately go back to Atomica again when we return to Kingston.
As for all of the negative reviews on this site, I wonder if some people just post fake ones, as many excellent restaurants are unfairly critisized. And for the review by "looking for authentic", if you are looking for the same food that you had in Italy I suggest that you go back and live there. I lived in Germany for 5 years and visited many countries and do not expect to find the same food here, or for the same price.
The -- in Cobourg is the closest that I have found for German and the prices are very reasonable. - Order: Pizza, coffee

Probably the best food I've ever eaten in a restaurant. My fiancée and I visit every time we come to Kingston. Incredible value for the price. NO SYSCO CRAP! Everything tastes incredibly fresh.
Bruschetta is the benchmark for bruschetta in Southern Ontario, in my opinion. Only the freshest ingredients are used, and it shows.
Pizza is delicious. Funghi is my favourite; Retro is my fiancée's favourite. Strong, fresh flavours blend together for a virtually orgasmic experience.
Dessert is excellent. Tiramisu is served in a coffee cup.
Coffee here is excellent as well.

hot shrimp was overcooked (very!)
mushroom crustini was good,, too much balsalmic on it though. Peppernota looked messy and disgusting, was not very pleasent looking at all, so didn't eat much of it. The pizza was alright, but far to much cheese, made it very greasy. Ravioli was undercooked and the sause was too thick, plus there wasn't much sauce anyways. The "chef" (i'm guessing) came upstairs, wearing a grey chef's jacket, and all she did was stare, and she didnt look to pleased about anything. Just kind of stood around. Last time i was here around christmas i came for supper and the food was AMAZING!! I had the pumpkin ravioli and there was the perfect amount of sauce, the pasta was cooked perfect and there was just the right amount of cheese,, looked beautiful too! A little blonde girl came up from downstairs, and i was told thats who made my food. Where is this little blonde girl?? - Order: Hot Shrimp, 2 Crustini's(mushroom and peppernota) Francese Pizza Ravioli (pumpkin)

I am not entirely sure I understand why Atomica has received such negative reviews. I have always found their service exceptionally inviting and hospitable. I enjoy the chic atmosphere, and find it refreshing, NEVER pretentious. Clearly the food will not be entirely authentic Italian; it's Kingston, give them a break. Those in search of 'extra toppings': perhaps pizza pizza would be a more appropriate placing for you. The pizza is the best I have ever had. Not only is it delicious, but well-portioned. Pizza is not meant to be the junk food it has become and Atomica chefs ensure that theirs is not the grease-injected filth served at the majority of pizza joints. I have heard that Atomica has been replacing bar tenders lately which might explain a slight discrepancy in drink orders but every cocktail myself or any of my friends have ordered have been scrumptious. Although I am sure I am not a seasoned wine taster because I still am a very young lady, I do know a fair bit about wines and their wine list I feel is one of the best in town. Their servers have also recommended many of these outstanding wines, this product knowledge is something that should be highly revered. Staff, timeliness of food and menu are all exceptional. Good work Atomica!
- Order: I've tried most of the menu, having been going there constantly since November '07. My favorite item to date is the goat-cheese bruschetta.

Bruschetta was absolutely delicious. Everything was so fresh. I've also had the antipasti which was awesome. The funghi pizza was really good - it had a little bit too much truffle oil for my liking, but still very tasty. Definitely big enough to share with someone, I took 3/4 of it home. It's just as good cold!!! The service was good and the ambiance is chic. I would definitely return.

I don't understand why there is so many negative reviews. I have been going to Atomica ever since it opened. There is no where in Kingston that gives you such good service and time to make sure everything is perfect. It is a busy spot so making reservations early is a good idea. Atomica is step above Woodenheads. I recomend everyone checking it out.

I just came to Kingston from Italy some months ago, and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by the restaurant and rather unpleasantly surprised by the review by Mr./Mrs. "I've lived in Italy for 2 years... looking for authentic Italian food". Look, the pizza may not be "authentic Italian" but that's because in Kingston, one has to make due with non-authentic Italian ingredients. It's not exactly easy to buy fresh Italian "pomodori", nor is it easy to find waitresses who are fluent in Italian. Conclusion: I thought it was excellent. 9/10. Forza Atomica!

My freinds and I have been regulars at Atomica for years. I finally decided to post a review after seeing all the negative ones. This place is one of the best spots in town. Very good food and service in a modern setting. My word of advice - try it you won't be dissapointed!
