Erie Belle

I will certainly keep coming back to this amazing restaurant! I don't understand the poor reviews as they always serve more than enough chips and the fish is always incredible. Having traveled to England, I know that the typical was to serve fish and chips is in newspaper so that the food doesn't soak in the grease. I think it's important to note that getting take out fish and chips is going to be greasy no matter where you go as fish isn't a type of food that sits well; as we all know from cooking! The service was fast and friendly and the restaurant renovations are beautiful! I would recommend this family restaurant to anyone and everyone and would definitely call it the best restaurant in Kincardine!

Went in for lunch. It was not busy, which was nice. Ordered the quiche & salad The quiche was TERRIBLE. Very watery & therefor the pie shell was not crispy - yuck. So we went away leaving VERY hungry. Felt bad taking my company there. Thumbs DOWN Erie Belle!!!

Have eaten at the Erie Bell for the past five years and loved it HOWEVER am extremely disappointed in the quality of the food this summer. The chips were not bad but the Haddock was sub-standard and the Baked Potatoe was a disaster having been previously baked then warmed to the point of the interior being hard at one end and actually required a Knife to cut the skin open (should have been able to squeeze slightly to burst) and of course the taste was off - was this a microwave disaster? What happened? The staff was busy chatting with other staff and or friends and we left thinking that the owner needs to get knowledgeable management in there very quickly before the present staff destroy what was once what we considered the best fish and chip place for miles around. This is the second time this summer we walked away very disappointed in our meal and will not be returning.

Upon picking up our meal (no delivery) we were surprised to see our fish wrapped in completely soaked greasy newspaper?? Now I understand the environmental benefits of this packaging but it turned our stomachs upon seeing this unusual method. The homemade fries turned out to be cold and soggy. Now not to slander the management, eating our meal in the actual restaurant may have provided a more appetizing experience. I recommend trying a meal inside the restaurant but possibly avoid take-out.

I frequent this place for their take out special, the jr. pollock and chips. The fish and chips are delicious, the only thing is I've noticed the quantity of chips has declined over the past year. I don't like having to ask for 'extra chips', so now I've switched to just chips. I like the wrapped in newspaper method, it reminds me of a fish and chips place I went to years ago. It's environmentally friendly and not a health issue- just think, no styrofoam containers that get tossed in the trash.

always enjoy,. our experience here, but even nicer are the up to date flooring and enviro-friendly bathrooms.food and service outstanding as usual
