Papa Sam's Restaurant

Absolutely fabulous!
This was a first visit to Papa Sams - we read about this restaurant in the Smart Shopper and thought we should try it.
Our meals were fantastic, service was great and the price was good - even though we fortgot to bring the $5 off coupon that we cut out of the paper.

Love it, love it, love it! A Kanata classic; without a doubt the best pizza in Ottawa (sorry Collonade).

After growing up in Kanata, I've moved around the world. Every single visit I make home to Ottawa, the family tradition is a Papa Sam's pizza. And let there be no doubt: the pizza is excellent every time! The only reason I gave the atmosphere four stars is that we usually get delivery.

The staff are always friendly, I've even seen Sam deliver to old Kanata families at Christmas time. This is a wonderful institution and they have my business for life. The only downside is that all other pizza's pale in comparison (what a wonderful burden to have).

Well, this restaurant had great reviews, so we decided to give it a try. Sam, the owner, is very friendly and made me feel at home as I was waiting to pick up our order.
The poutine was, well, not great, as they used shredded cheese, not curds, and very light and kinda tasteless gravy. It was not the worst poutine I've ever had, but far from the best... :(

I'm not sure what kind of pizza we got, but it was not what we ordered...close, but different.. We didn't see that until we got home... It was tasty, nonetheless....

We will probably give this restaurant another try, because of the great reviews it got from everyone else, but we were not entirely sold....

Certainly the best pizza in the west end of Ottawa and in the top three in the city. Not that this is a hard thing to do in a city with terrible pizza overall.

Coming from the west coast, we found all the local pizza, not to put to fine a point on it, sucked. Thank god someone finally referred us to Papa Sams! Good crust, quality ingredients (pepperoni could be better, but almost no one has the good, lean, cripsy stuff we got in BC). Best pizza in Kanata by a country mile.

Stopped by on a whim to pick up a pizza. Real roast ham used (not the typical sliced deli meat). Lots of cheese, delicious! Sat outside on the picnic tables and they came out and served us at the table! Server was friendly and funny. Had a great meal and a great time!

Baaaa-aaad pizza. Greasy and doughy and way, way too much cheese. I feel ill.

Best Pizza in town! (truly!) Fresh! Fresh! I recommend ordering a thin crust...Sam and the crew know Pizza...Mmmmm! I'm picking one up tonight...You should too! Yummy...

The beer was cold, the escargot and pizza was hot. Good amount of cheese on both, and very tasty. They provided the side of chilli flakes and parmasean cheese for the pizza. Sam, the owner, was on hand and the service was friendly and quick.

A fantastic pizza! I ordered it over the phone from Sam and went and picked it up. It was piping hot and was truly amazing pizza! Great job, Sam!
