Love the small quaint atmosphere. Food was fantastic and a great value. Will recommend and be back for sure!

Sooo good! When we first walked into the restaurant it seemed small and a little dingy. Not many people in the restaurant either. But the food was delicious, hot and came quickly. Service was very good too. I couldn't believe how tasty everything was. The mushroom appetizer was enormous! Try this place, you won't be disappointed.

My only small complaints are how small and boxed in I felt in this brickwalled eatery. My bread plate was dirty-- it looked like cigarette ashes were on it or something. I went to switch it with the table behind me, but that one had dirt on it too! Other than that it was a great meal with prompt service.

The portions of food were fantastic and you will not leave this place hungry. breaded mushroom app was hot and fresh, lentil soup was homemade and delicious. I ordered the Hunter's schnitzel and it was very good and filling! I really loved the Spätzle that came with it. Very rich and you know it's probably not so healthy, but soo very delicious.

My boyfriend ordered the rindsrouladen and I tried a bit of that aswell which was also very good.

I think I will come back sometime and try something else on menu. I wasn't very familiar with Austrian food prior to last night, so I'd definitely love to try more.

Highly recomended but make sure to make a reservation.

I've been going here for a few years now. Never had a bad meal. We've taken others here to share the experience, and now they're sold on it as well. The food is great, fast, hot, and huge portions....what else could you ask for? I've rarely had dessert, because I'm always too full to even finish my plate...although others I'm with have had dessert, and said the cheese cake is the best they've ever had. If you haven't been, do yourself a favour and make reservations and GO!

2nd review for this place as good as the first. Big portions, so apps are not even needed really, but are good! Love the smoked Kessler pork chop...very good. Wash it down with some Hacker Beer and it's a great night! Make reservations if you want a table.

I've been here so many times, I couldn't leave a negative review at the top of the page. I come back to this place every chance I get.
Put simply, this is great Austrian/German food. If you're expecting nouveau cuisine, you might come away disappointed. They use butter, meat, salt and and other things that taste good.
Like any restaurant, they have off-nights, but 99 times out of 100, you're going to come out of here full, happy and ready for a return visit.
The service is sometimes off, but not by much.
PS: The Waltz Dream is even better than it sounds on the menu.

This is a quaint little restaurant. All brick and beer steins...pretty much what you'd expect. The draft beer is excellent and I will return for it. As for the food, after all the reviews we read, frankly we were very disappointed. We had been looking quite forward to eating here. You do get loads, but read the review title. The mushroom app was bland..nothing special here although the sauce was quite nice with it and you do get a huge pile...but a pile of deep fried bland is still bland. The ham app was simply sliced deli meat, a pickle and a pile of mild horse radish..enough said. The entrees: the barley soup was too heavily salted and the lettuce in the house salad was very bitter with an awful dressing..possibly a personal taste thing on the dressing but I would bet that the chef smokes with all that salt in the soup. The schnitzel were thin enough to fit between the tines of my fork and stringy...the gyspy sauce was reminiscent of tomato soup with added pepper and paprika...again, a taste/expectation thing but I found it very unpalatable and scraped it off. The mushroom/cheese topping on the Germainia was, again, bland and simply dumped on top...not much effort in presentation here folks...but perhaps that's the idea. The spätzle looked like it had been run through a collander into the water...a sort of a mash and not the nice individual noodles I expected. The potatoes were not thoroughly cooked either.
I'd say that the issue here is a bored or uncaring chef...the cooking here is geared toward the lowest common denominator...nothing outstanding here. I may try the place again as all restaurants have bad days, and the beer is great, but I will have to say that based on this experience I wouldn't expect much and will not likely be disappointed.

I ordered a lunch special, but it didn't arrive for an hour. By the time the food came, I had to leave to return to work! I ate the food after work. I was not impressed with the service. The waitress was slow and not friendly. I would return just because the restaurant has an excellent reputation.

Typical german/austrian food. Schnitzel with Spätzle. Friendly service and good ambience.

I read the reviews on this site. I was not disappointed. The atmosphere is very german and fun. I will be back again, for sure!
