Pineapple Thai is a new 'fusion' thai restaurant. The head chef is from Toronto and has put his own personal spin on the meals.
It just opened a few months ago and it seems relatively unknown. Whenever we go here it's empty! I'm a little worried they might go under.
I'm worried because the food is FANTASTIC! The prices are EXCELLENT. And the decor is AMAZING considering it's downtown Hamilton.
First of all, the General Tso Chicken was the best I've had. I asked them to make it spicy which is probably why I enjoyed it so much.
But the star of the night is the Tom Yum soup. It's SOOOooooooOOOooo goood!!! I could eat this all day! My only complaint is they add pineapple and mushrooms to it and while they are PERFECTLY SUITED AND DELICIOUS...they are cut into perfectly sized pieces to choke on. I actually choked on a piece of pineapple. So be careful! It's delicious and deadly! (haha)
The Pad Thai is more tomatoey coloured (and tasting) then I'm used to but it's still fantastic.
For around $11 you can get a soup + dish combo. It's an excellent value.
Also, the lemongrass chicken (or was it just lemon chicken?) was ordered by a friend of mine. The way it was displayed was impressive and it was VERY tasty, as well. Everyone was picking food off his plate!
Hopefully they will get more business. It's hard finding parking near them which is why I don't go there very often. Nevertheless, it's one of the best places for food in Hamilton.
Try it out!
