This is a restaurant I simply never tire of. Yes, it's in the neighbourhood, but that alone would not warrant repeat visits! Now, the food! The food is what draws us back again and again! Delicious! Just delicious! The atmosphere is quaint and relaxed and service is always fantastic! What else can you ask for!?

After consulting with friends who had previously visited, we decided to hold a surprise anniversary dinner here. The back room nicely and privately held 16. The service was seamless. Our waiter worked tirelessly, checked on us often. We chose options from their catering menu, guests had either chicken stuffed with sun dried tomatoes and goat cheese, medallions of beef, with a choice of gravy, or the catch of the day: spotted bass. Presentations were creative, flavours reflected the quality ingredience, and talent of our chef. All were impressed and more than satisfied. Actually, it was amusing when we noticed the chatty group had become silent once our entrees arrived. We were too busy savouring our first bites! From hors d'oeuvres through the so yummy wild mushroom soup, to the wonderful death by chocolate dessert, our meal was amazing. Wine list impressive. All in the group agreed this would not be their last visit.

Had the Portobella Mushrooms to start and the Rack of Lamb as a main. The food was great, especially the lamb which was a good value. Enjoyed it with a bottle of Omrah Shiraz which was a perfect combination. Good atmosphere and service, the latte was one of the best I have ever had.

I previously enjoyed this restaurant a great deal for lunch; this experience was quite different. Firstly, the prices are a tad inflated for what you get. My pasta was very good (particularly the sausage), but, for $15, came in a rather small portion, and did not include any sort of bread or salad. Speaking of salad, their organic greens salad is usually quite good here but, this time around, the greens tasted quite bitter - They were obviously old (greens aren't supposed to taste like dirt) and not at all appetizing. The waitress was not terribly nice about this, even when I explained to her that we had enjoyed the salad on previous occasions and could notice a marked difference in quality. Her attitude spoiled the rest of the meal for us (which also wasn't helped by the bill at the end of it). In conclusion, Il Fiasco is great for lunch, but we'll be avoiding it as a dinner restaurant in the future: It's far too expensive, and we'd like to avoid service like that as well.

The wrap was wonderful (especially the goat cheese), and it came with a delightful salad with organic greens, grape tomatoes and blueberry vinaigrette. The quiche, while not as spectacular as the wrap, was still extremely good (the egg was very light-tasting). The decor and service was nice. Overall, probably one of the best places for lunch in the city!

As newcomers to Locke Street, we decided to check out Il Fiasco as it was fairly quiet and looked inviting. Our table was situated on a sloped level, but after a few minutes we got used to it. At first the waiter did seem like he had better things to do, but I found it just took a while to find the groove with him. He was chatty and attentive as the night wore on. The food was flavourful, and portion-wise offered good value for what we paid ($13-14). I'm glad this restaurant's in the neighbourhood; it's reassuring to have a quiet, quality-focused alternative to all the pubs that people seem to love!

A tad disappointed, especially in the service. Food was okay, but the balding waiter with the attitude is something else. Thinks he is funny, but just comes across as smug and aloof. Seems like he would rather be anywhere else. I think he owns the place which is a shame. I have been to Il Fiasco in the past and the service has been good from all others, but not this time. This is definitely the last time I will go to this "Fiasco" of a place. Too much to pay for that kind of treatment.

The service was a little slower than usual but still acceptable. The atmosphere is relaxing and the music always creates a pleasant mood. We have been customers for years and have been rarely disappointed. This visit was very good and we will return.
- Order: I ordered a pasta dish with chicken and jalapeno fettucine, which I have ordered many times before. My partner ordered venison, the special of the day. Their soup of the day is always excellent so we ordered that as an appetizer. It was hot and very tasty.

This was an evening out with 6 ladies (a birthday party). Appetizers were satisfactory. We ordered coconut shrimp, veggie spring rolls and brie with fruit salsa. Brie was good. Two of us ordered the cashew chicken stuffed with goat cheese. We got one bite's worth of the goat cheese - not generous at all - really one bite's worth of the cheese! Two of us ordered gnocchi with goronzola which was overcooked and mushy and pretty tasteless. One ordered a greek salad which was fine and the other ordered seafood pasta that they didn't like at all - no one else even wanted to try it from her plate! The service was sooooo slow. The place only seats about 25 and it wasn't packed. The wait staff would ask if we were ready to order (we were) then come back about 10 minutes later to take the order. It took about 1/2 an hour for the appetizers to come out and we waited a while for the entrees as well. We ordered one piece of peanut butter cheese cake to split with the birthday girl and each of us gasped as we took a bite! This is cake they order in from a bakery. One of us told the waitress that it tasted old and she confirmed that it may have been sitting there for a while because it was one of the last pieces and the new cake hadn't been opened yet!!! Our jaws dropped. So needless to say Il Fiasco was quite the Fiasco! Should've got the hint in the name!
