Chinese Dumplings

This place rocks. I order from here all the time and eat in occasionally. The service is always friendly and the quality of food is excellent.

I was pleased to see all these good reviews, and I was visiting from Buffalo NY , and was looking for a nice bite to eat, and ordered the soup and it went right through me. I was thinking I might have ordered the wrong thing on the menu. The person I was visiting in Hamilton had been there twice and really enjoyed the food there.

I found the soup to be very oily and extremely hot!! (spice) I think my middle aged body cannot handle these kind of spices anymore! It burned (the other end) of my body too, if you know what I mean!

Despite that, I would still consider going back for the dumplings, as they are supposed to be good.

The food is AMAZING. the portions are HUGE, it's not expensive at all and the family atmosphere is absolutely wonderful! I love this place and will go back many many times.. I suggest you all try it just once and you'll be hooked!

When we arrived at the restuarant, we were seated promptly and given tea, a small plate of peanuts and menus. The menu is huge - the take-out menu I have handy lists 174 items.

We started with hot & sour soup which was quite good, although I found it a bit too mild. The small soup was more than enough for both of us and would probably serve up to four people quite well. Next up were the dumplings. This restuarant has the best dumplings I have ever tasted. Finally we had lamb with oyster sauce. We didn't order any rice to go with our meal and the lamb would have been better over rice. The lamb was good but not outstanding, having a nice combination of textures from the meat, bamboo and water chestnuts.

The service was very good.

We will definitely be coming back to Chinese Dumplings.

I visited this place on the busiest day of the year, yet the service was still excellent! I went with a few of my friends after walking around the mall all day, we were desperate for a place to rest, and came by Chinese Dumplings. The server welcomed us and promply brought us to our seats, served us nice warm Chinese tea and FREE PEANUTS, a great remedy after intense shopping. We were all surprised at the great varieties in the menu, and the cheap prices too! Their food is very authentic, and they taste AMAZING! Very flavourful, very traditional! Not like any other Chinese restaurants we've been to. We had a great time there, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, all the servers have big smiles on their face! We will definetly come by again for sure! This is a great place for eatings with families and friends, or just by yourself, since they've got a nice TV set in there! Hope everyone will get a chance to visit this place!

I really love this place--the food is usually really good (the crab meat in the soup sometimes tastes different though). The service is not the most prompt, but they're really sweet, friendly people (even if they don't speak English really well). There was one time we ordered a chicken dish that wasn't quite what we were expecting and they replaced it with something else for no extra charge! They really are awesome. It's a great family place that deserves more customers. They have decent music, a tv that's usually playing a movie, a nice family atmosphere, good food and good enough service. Not to mention the really amazing prices and large servings! Definitely a place to visit--too bad it's a overshadowed by being next door to Le Chinois. I'd choose Chinese Dumplings any day!

I was only in Hamilton for a day and I wasn't quite sure where to go for dinner. After settling on this place, I liked the friendly services and I couldn't believe how cheap the menu was! And the food was excellent. The hot & sour soup was the best I've ever had and the shrimp dumplings were very nicely cooked. And the free peanuts, watermelon, and lemon flavoured water were all really nice touches. The next time I'm in Hamilton, I'll definitely go back.
