Where's the salt? The Kung bao chicken I ordered needed at least 2 teaspoons of salt and soy sauce to add flavour to the dish. Their claim to spicyness was not an exaggeration. I know the sign says "No MSG" but that doesn't mean "No salt or pepper" either. The food was bland and tasteless. When it wasn't this, it was spicy, but there was still no taste. I also tried some curry chicken which suffered from the same flaws.
For $4.50/plate, I guess I can't ask for much. The portion sizes were filling if nothing else.
Friendly. The whole restaurant operates like someone's home. The menu is a different style that what I'm used to. Every item has a postcard picture to match it. In fact, the menu is actually a photo album.
This place isn't a "professional kitchen" in any sense. Newspapers strewn about everywhere, creaky hardwood floors, washroom that's obstructed by stacks of soft drinks. Hell, there's even a houseplant. Most restuarants thrive on a cozy atmosphere, this one just feels like a squalor.
