  • I was so excited to read the menu listed on their website, when we arrived we found it was not up to date.
We had 2 servers, 1 for beer, 1 for food and we were unsure whom to ask for what! The chicken sandwich and buffalo burger took over 40 minutes to reach our table. The chicken was so dry I could hardly bite through it and the burger was dwarfed by the bun.

I wrote to the owners about the poor experience and after 6 weeks, they have yet to respond.

I will never go back and do not recommend this place to anyone.

  • Order: Chicken burger w/guacamole & ff and Cheddar mushrorm bison burger w/mash

  • We had stopped going to the Wooly as we had been turned off by the quality of food and increased negative/snarky attitude of the waitstaff. However, we tried again as we live close by and I just used to love this place!!

We were pleasantly surprised. The food was quite good. My only small complaint is that the side order of fries was a little bit small..and they have really good fried. Other than that, our waitress was extremely pleasant and competent. The beer, which we had never had a problem with, was served promptly and ice cold. Maybe management took a look at this site and made some changes. Anyway, we will go back !!

  • waited a long time for the food, the beer came quick. Loved the taste of all the ontario beers, but the fish 'n chips were very small portions. I thought I would still be hungry after eating it but because I was well past starving, I guess my stomach shrunk and thankfully I didn't go to bed hungry.

My server was cocky and arrogant. I was thinking of applying for a wait staff position here, but no thank you. They all seemed cliquish and some actually seemed unhappy. I did LOVE the bartender though! He was witty and all out just nice!

Sad. I was looking forward to their new restaurant and maybe even applying for it, but with the staff attitudes, I wouldn't want to work there and that is enough to keep me away for dinner.

  • Order: fish 'n chips for the three of us, the arrow selection of beer for two of us

  • I go to the Woolwich Arms at least once a month. I always love my dinner. Never had a bad meal. The curry specials on Tues. are delish.

Burgers I ever had were thick and juicy == yumm!

  • Order: pasta, curry dish, burger

  • I was very disappointed we went for lunch with kids and had to wait behind a group of 30 even though we were there before them. Shepherd's pie was a joke and my salmon burger was "blackened" although not intentionally. Not even some bread or chips for the kids while we waited. Went with friends the other night - they were also not pleased. The french fries were not cooked and the portabello fries - to the person who saifd they were out twice- don't bother. This place does a great job of always being in the local news, philanthropy at the expense of good food and service. No thank you

  • Order: portabello fries, shepherd's pie, fish and chips

  • Eek! Sure it's a pub, but with the local paper coverage, about the place being the spot for local food, we were disgusted. The server, well lets just say she needed a day off or something to consider if this is the right thing for her. The veg burger was right out of the freezer, and the fries were tasteless, the bison well done beyond all belief, and the mashed potatoes tasted as though they were out of a box. On the bright side the beer was great, this place is great for a drink, but not much else. What's with the chefs walking about the restaurant covered in food!!!! Service needs some serious work.

  • Order: Veg cheese burger with fries, and a bison burger blackened, with mashed potatoes. Split a jug of house beer.

  • No atmosphere in this pub. A lot more could be done with the decor. Food reasonable. Service terrible. Waitress miserable, did not come back to ask us how things were. Would probably not visit again. Penny whistle much more atmosphere, better service.

  • We came to the pub on Saturday night for a burger, but the three of us ended up ordering steaks because of the special the pub offers on the weekend ($20 for the house beer and steak..wow!). Who thinks to go to a pub for a steak and a good steak at that. What a pleasant treat. The steaks were cooked perfectly and the house beer tasted great. The bill took a while to get to the table, but we were deep in conversation so maybe the server was just giving us privacy. I love this place. The staff all seem to enjoy being there which is a nice change compared to most other places. Thanks.

  • Order: House ale, steak with fries and salad and pecan tart.

  • This is the worst pub I have ever been to. The food tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge for a week and reheated in the microwave. The beer was warm. The waitress seemed like she was on another planet, and did not come to ask us if we liked our food. Neither of us ate more than two bites of our food, and we left 3/4 of the beer in the glass. We had to go find someone to pay for our meal, which we left on the table barely touched. We were tempted to walk out but neither of us are the type. The food, the service, and the whole experience was so awful and we will never be going back there. The Albion, Frugal McDougal's or the Penny Whistle are much better choices for downtown if you're looking for the same style of food but an enjoyable experience. We paid just over $35 for our lunch and it wasn't even worth $5 - I would have rather eaten at Wimpy's!!

  • Order: vegetarian lasagne, chicken fingers and fries, creemore springs beer, coffee

  • Out of the three times I've been to the wooly, they've been out of portobello fingers twice. Last night I settled for a not too great veggie burger (couldn't taste guacamole or mushrooms, there wasn't enough). I think in future I'll check on the fingers before ordering a drink.

  • Order: Portobello fingers and fries, guac and shroom veggie burger, cheeseburger, 4 beer sampler.
