Its a diner so dont go expecting more and you will leave completely satisfied!
Great breakfast!
Burgers, Fish, grilled cheese are as good as they get.
If youre a salad person you may be disappointed but the chicken caesar is great!

Wnet in for lunchon a Monday, but it was still moderately busy -- a good sign normally.
kinda garish design inside with many loud movie & music posters & signs and 50's-style booths. Sadly the mini-jukeboxes at each booth don't work -- or mine didn't anyway.
Service was kinda slow, but I didn;t mind the laid-back approach, especially since the food, once ready, was delivered quickly to my table, piping hot.
The milkshake, notably, was the real deal -- milk & ice cream. Very good. The food was better than most diners.
I'll be back...

Their signature burger is just way too big for me so I avoid it at all costs.
I LOVE to go for a simple and classic grilled cheese, fries and a vanilla milkshake.
The staff are hilarious!
Seating is limited so don't go at a busy time.

I love this place!
When I'm feeling like a hamburger, Wimpy's never lets me down. The ambience is great with that old school diners flair.
Waitresses are generally friendly and they never screw up my order. Service is quite quick. The Wimpy's Burger Combo is definitely the strongest option on the menu but their all-day breakfast items are quite good too.
Always satisfying and consistently a good experience.

Meh..
Everything was okay. Food was kind of cold the second time we went. Place is kind of dirty and cramped. You can see the servers eating food behind the bar.

After my horrible experience at another Guelph place I decided to go back to Wimpy's. The food was great. The service was great and I got my pickles without a hassle. It was really a very good dining experience.

went here for a friends birthday and it was absolutely ghastly. the monent i walked in i knew it was not going to be a good night. 6 of us were seated at a table and were very cramped. like elbow to elbow cramped. if you've got a lefty with you put them on the end or you'll never get to eat because you'll be bumping elbows all night. the food itself was mediocre. everyone raved about being the "best in guelph" i didnt see it. mcdonalds is better. prices were fair, but as soons as you want to add cheese or bacon to your burger prices sky rocket.
service was less than accomodating. how about a refill sometime? we barely saw our waitress and when we did se her it was for about 3 seconds as she walked by us paying no attention to our calling for her.
the place itself, dingy, small. like the food not very appealing. and in my opinion seemed unsanitary. needs a good hose down and some rubber gloves.
There are much better places downtown to eat, may not be as cheap but hey, you pay for quality. you definitely get what you pay for here - not terrible greasy food, less than expected service and a cramped, side by side dinner with your friends in the smalled booth in the world.

Well I have to agree with Jack on one count, there are a lot of weirdos walking around downtown Guelph and since this is the only downtown patio we could find that serves, well it is what it is. They seemed to be drinking out of bags down the street at the square but I don't that is legal. We were surprised by the price of import beer. Nice change from other bars. You have to pay up front
which surprised us a bit. Then when the waitress said well it is a little to easy to eat and run, it made total sense. -- was our server. Wow, there is a hottie. Poutine was frigg'n amazing, even more so when I found out it was veg gravy. My buddy had the wimpy burger. I think it is named incorrectly. It should be the monster burger. Who can actually eat that. Must have been hanging off the bun 8 cm each side. We thought the greek salad was a little pricy, then we got it and the other two ordered one ! You get what you pay for I guess and this was awesome. Biggest complaint, they are pushing breakfast and burgers and diner food, when it should also have equal billing as veggie. Simply put, we came for the patio. Without it we never would have stopped. But we will be back for the food.. and maybe the staff and well, year 1 of 5 years at the university so we will be regulars. - Order: A couple of imported beers, poutine, monster burger

What a great find while enjoying the amatuer wrestling this weekend in town. My wife and I were laughing when we saw the review that gave Wimpy's a 1 because there were to many weirdo's reaching in the patio area. Like the restaurant can control who is walking downtown. We chose to sit inside were it was cooler, although the patio was jammed. Vennessa was out waitress and she was a sweet as pie. What a trip down memory lane in this 60's style diner. Wish we lived closer. Sadly we live in New York State. But when we come back, this is our spot. Well done !
