I went to this place based on the review of their nachos. I was very disappointed. The portion was small and they were half cold. The flavor was not great. The place felt like a truck stop and it was not comfortable at all. We will not return

My husband and I had never tried the Pour House before, and we had been driving around, looking for a new place to try. We were pretty happy to find a place that wasn't crazy busy. Unfortunately this place was REALLY slow. Which is too bad, because we were quite impressed.
The atmosphere is cozy, with pictures of the local regulars up on the wall and such.
Our server was great. She was friendly, helpful and efficient.
We both ordered the fish and chips, which we found quite nice. We were in and out in less than 45 mins!
We will be back again... maybe in the summer, to try out that fantastic patio!!!

wow, this patio is one of the "hidden gems" that i want to keep hidden for myself :). There's no traffic coming by, which is so uncommon, there's seating along flower beds against the fence, and a little fountain, well, not really a fountain but you get the water flowing sound which is nice. The inside of the bar is ok when we were walking through to get to the patio. It made me think that this is where regulars feel comfortable, but it was quite "cozy".
The waitress was really friendly and our food came out in decent time. The steak sandwich was ~ok but the steak was pretty thin. The fries were awesome though!
I'd go back whenever the weather is nice but we don't have many days left until winter so I'm disappointed that i found it so late in the year! (well, not like we had THAT many sunny days this year anyways...)

The wings and homemade soup are the best any where. I have never had soups or wings that taste so good. it is worth it to go every day just to have the soup. Excellent!!!!

I worked at The Pour House for a year and a half in 2005-2006. I can say that everything is clean and fresh! The staff was very nice too, very friendly.
My recomandations: Chicken wings, Nachos, Pastrami sandwitch with swiss cheese, chicken fingers tossed in hot sauce, Philly cheese steak, and of course, the well known homemade soups!

Even though the atmosphere was very friendly and cosy, and the service very good the food wasn't good at all. Should've got the chili on the side of the nachos- they just ended up being a soggy mess- weren't very good to start with. The salad was bland and kinda tasteless. This is a great place to meet friends for a beer but don't expect to eat well. I will probably go back for the atmosphere and try other menu items but at least I know what to expect so won't spend too much!- except on beer :)

In my opinion, The Pour House, by far has the best nachos in Guelph. I get the chili on the side and as someone else has mentioned, whatever seasoning they put on them makes them really really good....my husband and I go there regularly just for the nachos.
The staff are friendly..this is a local pub..and really, the atmosphere is not so bad. Cold beer + excellent nachos = friendly service = a great experience!

To tell the truth I stopped by expecting a dive.
Excellent service, friendly but down home, don't expect any high class accommodations as they're a small bar, the staff and patrons are friendly and don’t ask too many questions.
Wings are great, they carry Upper Canada Dark, now owned by Sleeman Breweries. It’s good they support local businesses. They’re not the place to go for a wide variety of beers however, absent are any Wellington/F&M and an array of imports.
I believe Bud/Coors/Canadian Lite comprises an overwhelming majority of beer sales.
- Order: I go there for the wings frequently - great wings wash down nicely with a pitcher.

We go on a regular basis just for the nachos. They are served with chili on them, but the secret is some sort of sea-salt seasoning that they dust the nacho chips with. Seriously, they are addictive and go down nicely with a cold draft beer.

The Reuben sandwich was served on lightly toasted marble Rye.
The sandwich had a good amount of cheese and plenty of meat. - Order: Glass of water and a Reuben combo
