The Boathouse

I love this place. There are so many great flavours. And the location is fabulous. The inside can get pretty crowded and leave nowhere to stand while you wait to order(thats the only downside).

I used to live downtown Guelph and every sunday in the summer my husband and I would take the children to the boathouse for a "treat" (I know sounds like leave it to beaver) but we walked from our house to the boat house got our ice cream, then walked with the kids along the bridge through the soccer field and then back it was only an hour walk but it was the best time with the kids

I went here with a coupl of friends one day, and we all needed to cool down, so we decided to stop by and get some ice cream, like we always do. The prices are a bit on the high side but the view of the river and the friendly servers make up for that. I don't know what they do to the ice cream but it tastes better then the store version. I would definetly go again!!

I live within walking distance from this place so im tehre quite often during the summer. my family and I enjoy a quality time everytime we are here. I wouldnt change a thing. WE even came here almost jsut as foten when we didnt live clsoe by. says a lot to come across town for ice cream, when you have many places near by.

A super good location for families on their nature walks. The ice cream is delicious, but they need a bigger selection. The ice cream part of boathouse is really small, so the line up is usually out the door. It is also very hot in there while waiting in line.
The chai tea was really good and was suprisingly freshly made, and not bagged tea.

We weren't even served until 30 minutes after we got there. The food was sick. I could relly tell it was from a box because the middle was cold and before that my mom had made me a boxed chicked pot pie which looked and tasted exactlk like the the box versian. Although i liked there ice cream i think it is overpriced.

The scones were amazing. Was told that they are made by a chef somewhere in Guelph. Would love to find out who!

If you want good ice-cream, at a much more reasonable price, take a walk around the corner on Wellington St.

...where else can you take a canoe trip on a hot day,and have your choice of over a dozen different ice creams when you return it?

This is one of Guelph's great little secrets. The Boathouse is beautiful little restaurant(not just ice cream) on the Speed River. They have a great lunch menu and excellent service, which makes this place one of my favourite summer spots in Guelph.
