Sushi Choice

Sushi Choice is my favourite sushi restaurant in Guelph. Don't be fooled by the all-you-can-eat options! SC has the freshest, tastiest fish. As other people have mentioned, the owners are super-friendly and the service is quick. They're always great about accommodating my no dairy/no gluten dietary restrictions... sometimes I bring my own wheat-free tamari.

My favourite dish is the Alaska roll. So good.

In my opinion it was the best sushi I had in a long time!
When we first went in, the place was smaller than expected, but very cozy.
My friends and I ordered their green dragon, matsu sushi, and the seared tuna from their new menu to share and it was DELICIOUS. It came with miso soup and salad, and I must say the salad is very addicting.
The service was friendly, and I would definitely be returning for some more.

I love Sushi Choice so much. The owners are lovely people and they always greet you with a smile. For a while I was fooling myself by eating the sub-par, rice-overloaded crap sushi at Fuji down the street, but Id much rather get quality rather than quantity for my money. Delicious hot green tea, friendly service..love'em... a real gem in downtown Guelph!

I liked the simplicity of the restaurant, and the great service. The food was satisfying for both my appetite and my wallet. The only thing that was a disappointment for me was the tea, it was just tap water and tea and was served with no cream or sugar. I recommend this restaurant

It would seem that this is the best rated restaurant in Guelph on this website. Given the reviews, I thought I would check it out. Design is pretty simple - think hole-in-a-hole design, which by the way I have nothing against. Soft music in the background. Server seemed very nice with a great smile on her face, and gave off the impression of being very friendly. Green tea came first and was disappointing. Very weak, and was tap water hot. Then came the miso soup ($1.50), which had about 3 small cubes of tofu, and no seaweed. Pretty much a miso broth. This was followed with the sushi rolls and here is where the highlight came. The plate was beautiful to look at...very artistic but in a simple way. The rolls tasted good too ($6 for kappa/avo, $8 for yam), although nothing that blew me away. I did enjoy the yam tempura roll. Cost wise, I would say the rolls are on the pricier side compared to other places in Canada - I'd say by about $2, and that's still on the pricier side.

Overall, I'd say the place is decent, but overrated on here. I wouldn't be in a rush to find myself back.

I've been to Sushi choice many times because I feel out of all the Sushi places in the Guelph area, it is the best. The service is very friendly, and the chef gives a hello and goodbye often too. My partner being not a fan of raw fish gets the tofu terriaki and it is always well made and delicious. Deep fried tofu is great with its crispy outside, and soft inners. The sashimi is always very good, and fresh. The sushi is very tasty as well, very nice presentation although nothing too impressive. Sometimes the chef will send out his home made sesame snaps as a very nice gesture. The only think I'd change is to make the place bigger and add the privacy of little rooms like I've seen in some other Sushi places. Looking forward to my next visit.

The service was friendly and quick.
The atmosphere is clean and calm.
The food is delicious, fresh and reasonably priced. It is honestly the best sushi and Korean food in Guelph.
