My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here last tuesday, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
The food was fantastic and the atmosphere very relaxed, a classical guitarist arrived part way through our meal and really made the evening feel special.
The servers were very professional and polite, and really helped us out with wine and menu suggestions.
The hospitality, from the minute we walked in the door was incomparable, they didn't miss a beat. They didn't rush us out after we had paid, even refilled our coffee while we enjoyed the music.
This was our first visit to the Other Brother's and it certainly lived up to everything I've heard. - Order: Duo of Mushrooms, Salad 3 ways; Duck Confit, Seafood 3 ways; Creme Brulee, Banana Bread Pudding

We went on a Friday night; A last minute decision and they were able to squeeze us in.
First visit and I must say, will not be the last!Excellent Staff, Great Food, nice atmosphere.
Yes, it is a little on the pricey side, but it is good value for money overall.Servers have a great attitude and know there stuff!
Rather attractive lot too, if I may say.......May I suggest if you do go here, please have the courtesy to at least be dressy casual. Showing up in scruffy jeans and t shirt does not reflect well when dining in this fine establishment.

We went for the early dining $30 before 6pm. It was really good value and I thought we would be rushed as it was the early seating but not at all. The servers were really professional, friendly but not overthe top and the food was amazing.I ike the 3 way choices and I would go back just for the creme brulee and the fireplace. Guitar music was a nice touch.

I have been to Other Brothers a few times in the past and quite enjoyed it. Friends of our had been for the three course fondue meal a few years previous and loved it so we thought we would try it.
It was $36 for three courses of fondue -- a cheese, a broth and a chocolate. We ordered the fondue in advance so we surprised when it took an hour for the cheese fondue to arrive at our table. The cheese fondue was unlike any fondue I have ever had. Rather then being thick and cheesy, it was more like a cream-base cheese sauce, and was very thin and bland. The dipping items were interesting, with pickles and cocktail onions and bread. Unfortunately the cheese was so thin it hardly stuck to the dipping items.
The broth came with a variety of meats and veggies, including beef, chicken, scallops and peppers. Most of the meats were okay, but the beef was terrible! It was grey and gristly and had a disgusting flavour. There were four dipping sauces, three of which were okay (although not stellar) but the "satay" dipping sauce tasted like it had gone off.
The chocolate fondue was okay. It had a nice rich chocolate flavour, although I found it a bit sweet. The selection of dipping items it came with was terrible though. There was one strawberry and a few blue berries, some dry tasteless banana bread and lots of hard melon, some of which still had some rind.
At the end of the meal we were still hungry and very disappointed. There was nothing served to us that we could not have made, better, at home. The Other Brothers needs to completely revamp the Fondues or just remove them from their menu.
The ambiance at the Other Brothers is quite nice, and the service is friendly, although very slow.

The place was nice and the waitress were good (and good looking too, I wish I went to UofG, lol); but the food took quite a while to get out of the kitchen on all three courses; though the waitress kept our taste buds busy offering complimentary crisp pappadums with hummus (the hummus was nice and smooth, but could've had more of a kick; more tahini, garlic, some pepper and more cumin).
The appetizers were the highlight of the meal. I ordered the Seafood Trio, which I would rate as 7.5/10. Tasted very good, was presented nicely, but nothing really out of the ordinary.
My sister ordered the Duo of Calamari, 7/10. The sauteed calamari was done very well, but the fried calamari frites had too much breading, so it reminded me of the stuff you would find in the frozen section of a grocery store.
My Seafood Threeways entree though had several flaws. Sole was overcooked and dry even with a lot of the unidentifiable insipid white sauce. Scallops too were overcooked, rubbery, and I cannot understand how it was paired up with white mash potatoes and kalmata olives? Terrible combination. The salmon was okay, but still ever so slightly overcooked and dry. 5.5/10
My sisters Duo of Duck was nice, but the confit leg was overtly salty, even for confit, and would've made more sense to pair it up with the lentils and blueberry jus. The breast was cooked very well though, but this was underseasoned, and the blueberry jus didn't taste of blueberry at all. 7/10
My Banana Bread Pudding was plated awefully, but it actually tasted very good. The espresso creme anglais could've had a more espresso flavour to it, but I enjoyed the dessert. A nice scoop of good vanilla ice with it would've put it over the top though. 7.5/10
White Chocolate Raspberry Creme Brulee tasted good, but was cooked improperly and was just a mushy pudding as well as the sugar was burnt to black all over and looked terrible. 4/10

We invited a couple as guests based on our really good experience about five years ago. What a mistake. One guest's appertiser was cold when it was supposed to be hot, and as if that wasn't enough the same guest's duck entree was cold. The other meals were average except for the artesanal cheese dessert which consisted of four little pieces of dried out cheese all the same colour and texture (by that point we didn't care enough to complain). When the problems were brought to the staff's attention gushy sweeeteness turned to surly! And, to end the evening on the right note, the name on the bill was incorrectly spelt even though the staff has benefit of the correct spelling as it was on the credit card. Not an experience I'd repeat, or a restaurant that I would recommend.
