Capistrano Café

After sampling chai latte's all over downtown Guelph, I've finally found one that is simply marvelous! They add a wonderful combination of traditional and non-traditional spices and it ranks right up there with Starbucks' chai latte. This little cafe is BIG on taste, service, location and smiles.

After ordering, my server gave me the dessert and said she would bring out the cappuccino when it was ready, and my wrap would be out shortly. She brought out the drink a few minutes later, and I got started on some work I had with me. About ten to fifteen minutes later she came back out and asked if I had received my wrap, and I said no, I hadn't. I wasn't upset or agitated, but she walked away and five minutes later brought out my wrap. She said, "Here's your chicken wrap, and here's your refund for it for having to wait so long." She then apologized for the wait.

I was quite surprised and delighted; I was ready to sigh and accept that, hey, these things happen. My server (and the cafe itself for letting her do so) handled the situation impeccably, and as a result I'm going to recommend them to everyone, and go back often myself.

Very good service aside, they make a very frothy and rich cappuccino. The bun was okay-but-not-that-great, and the wrap had strong and good flavours, and had extremely fresh ingredients.

Overall a great coffee shop, the best I've been to in the area.

The owner serves with a smile! You can tell he really cares about his customers because he always remembers your face! His wait staff are highly trained. The quality of the food is impeccable! The atmosphere is very relaxing. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

One of few places in downtown Guelph to quickly grab a coffee and breakfast before 8. (Sit-down breakfast is available other places at this time...but not many to go type options)

Service is off and on, but I'll go back!

i don't know how these guys are in business. Staff is rude, and they make it seem like they are doing you a favour
asking to order something. Pizza was cardboard and staff are
beyond belief

Frequent this caffe several times a week as the light meals are affordable, nutritious, and yummy. the caffe is well maintained and clean. the owners are attentive to their customers and service is very prompt.

Capistrano actually has the best patio in guelph! the food is fresh and the staff are friendly and efficient. Its not a cliquey place like other Guelph coffee establishments

the cheese melt is awesome! I would definetly reccomend this place to anyone who wants a good sandwhich or coffee/espresso drink

Literally the best coffee I've had in Canada. Italian-style cappuccino that is almost as good as the cappuccino in Rome. Excellent sandwiches especially the turkey and muffaletta. Good soup. They actually know how to make tea properly according to my English friend. Also clean and not overdone decor (which would only increase costs). Quiet enough, with no loud music. Friendly staff. Good prices. Excellent.
