Worst restaurant in Guelph. Period.
It's a total crap hole. The place is falling apart. The chairs have tape covering the holes. The waitress and cook look like slobs.
The food is CLEARLY stuff heated up from the grocery store. I'm not even exaggerating.
The only redeeming quality was that it only took them like 5 minutes to cook up my terrible burger and fries and give me a tiny soft drink.

Stopped by before the superbowl as the other local spots were jammed. decent food, decent pop, not the watered down stuff. Nice people, it was not real busy so they had lots of time to chat.
Id go back. - Order: Hamburger, Fries and a Gingerale

The truth is we went to wimpys next door first but they were jammed. Choice was this place of Angels. Made the right choice. Service was good as it was not busy. Food was ok and compared to Wimpys there may be not competition, but compared to Angels or other close breakfast spots, this place is decent.

Simple, if Angels is that rating this place is a 10 across the board. It is a time capsule and desperately needs new owners. But I guarentee it is safe, and if Wimpys is lined down the road,

Let's start with the service. There is a younger girl with really dark hair who is always smiling and working hard. She makes the somewhat intimidating cafe less awkward.
The Apollo is kind of hillarious in ways.
They give you place mats that look like they came from your parent's house in 1988...and the small orange juice is seriously SO small.
I'd say it's worth ordering just for a laugh.
But other than those things, you get so much food for your dollar!
The food is pretty nice. But unfortunately, the salad is made with Iceburg lettuce. But, the breakfast menu is great. And if you're thinking breakfast...they open before every other breakfast joint in the downtown area! - Order: Two Eggs Bacon Orange Juice

We love the Apollo for breakfast - this was our first dinner. $20 for two with tea and coffee, good food made in front of us, and everything is always fresh, the place is always clean. Cheered up my partner for a next to nothing! Don't go for anything fancy - that isn't what they are about.

I told my friend this place was "nothing fancy" and I meant it. Usually an OK place to go for a reasonably cheap and good-tasting breakfast on a Sunday morning. However, this time I was very disappointed. The belgian waffle tasted like a no-name freezer waffle (I would have preferred an "Eggo" over this!) and the sausages were greasy and getting cold when my plate arrived. The server was not very attentive at all. I wanted ketchup for my sausages but ended up doing without because she didn't check back for ages. The ratings are based on overall impression. This visit was about a 3 across the board.
PS- what's with the juice sizes? A "small" is basically a shot glass. Even the large was smaller than a standard glass of water.
- Order: Belgian Waffle, side of sausage, apple juice

Reading the comments regarding the portion sizes make me laugh. Yes, portions are small, but this restaurant is in a time warp, and that is its charm. The juice portion sizes are what USED to be considered normal back in the day. Nowadays, most...

This place is not bad. That sums it up pretty much. It is not bad but it is not great. If you want a good breakfast go to Angels Diner and you can get more for cheaper at Wimpys or Viennas. Overall this place is a good alternative if the other places are packed but given the choice I would not eat here.

the best greasy spoon in town. perfect on a weekend morning when you want an old fashion bacon and eggs breakfast. sure, the place is a dive, but what authentic greasy spoon restaurant isnt? service is quick and friendly. you never have to ask for your coffee to be refilled, they just do it.
