  • We stopped in and had a wonderful experience. Better than all the regular big chain restaurants; it reminded my husband and I of when we were young and were thrilled to be able to watch our little one have the same experience. The service was very friendly and accomodating; our waitress was just so pleasant! The food was better than we expected and we have no complaints. What I found terrific was what the provide for children. The meal selections were better than East Side Mario's, Montanna's, Kelsey's and Swiss Chalet...AND the meal came out in a paper train (much to our son's delight), and their kids' cup (that you can take home) was of better quality than the previously mentioned restaurants. We WILL be returning to further explore their menu options in their quiet, family atmosphere.

  • I had heard about this place and decided to give it a try. The atmosphere was nice, almost like a Swiss Chalet. Our waiter (Rick) was the best! He was so kind and caring, I enjoyed having him as our waiter. However, the manager was rude. He was walking around to each table filling customers' glasses with water. When I had asked for a refill as I was almost done, he said 'I will come back when you are done', and he never came back! He was very rude and inconsiderate. The food was ok, nothing special, the chicken was a little bit dry. They did provide a complimentary piece of cheesecake with a candle for my friend's birthday. I would only go back for the waiter, he was the best! The food, not that great, and the manager, definitely a rude guy!

  • The fries were a real disappointment. Swiss Chalet’s fries are much better. The fries here were like oven heated frozen fries. Apparently, the rice tasted/appeared like it was sitting around too long. The red and green peppers, if that’s what they were appeared to be mushy.

The chicken was truly excellent, but the side dishes just didn’t do it for us.

  • This restaurant has a great atmosphere and an extremely varied menu. It is easy for anyone to find something of interest.

Their signature dishes, chicken and ribs are pretty good, but not great. As a former St-Hubert, their concept is very similar.

On this most recent visit, we went for dinner. Service was rapid and competent. The food was served hot and the taste (we all had chicken) was fairly good. Their interesting dipping sauce is really necessary to compensate for the lack of flavour in the chicken breast.

Two of us had desserts - the 7th Heaven and Apple Pie. Both were amazing.

Then came the bill. Holy cow! We remarked that their prices have increased over the past few years. For a dinner or four including soft drinks and two desserts, the total meal, including taxes and tip was over $80! By stark contrast, their 2 for 1 lunches make The Q an excellent value choice for lunch.

We'll be back, but given the price, probably for lunch next time.

  • Order: Various chicken meals with sides, soft drinks, apple pie and 7th Heaven

  • Each time I go here I get more and more disapointed. It used to be very good, but the past few times we've went, we were not impressed.

My dinner was not good at all. I had a 1/4 chicken with ceaser salad.... the dressing on the salad was off and my chicken was so dry I could barely swallow. My boyfriends dinner was fine, but I had three bites of mine and that was it.

When the manager came she offered a free dessert, I thought that was nice and ordered a flaky pastry that was the best thing of my whole meal.

Then the cheque came... ya I got a free dessert that costs $5, but they still charged me for the dinner that costs $13 that I only had three bites out of and the server was so sincere when he said... but you got a free dessert??? HUH?

I told him we would not be back and maybe the manager should take a math class. Was not impressed at all.

  • I went here for breakfast recently and was pleasantly surprised. I did not expect them to have a decent breakfast menu.. actually I didn't even expect them to serve breakfast.

I had their eggs benedict which comes on toasted English muffin, peameal bacon, hollandaise, and toast. It also comes with an baked beans and creton which I usually have to order separately (score!). I took a chance on this one because I find most places make their hollandaise too rich/heavy; and I wasn't sure how their creton would compare to Cora's. Well, their hollandaise was just perfect.. actually tasted a bit of a sweetness to it -- but mainly it didn't overpower the eggs. The creton was good. The entire meal, while a bit heavier and not as healthy as the fresh fruit plates at Chez Cora, was tasty, hardy and filling.. and 1/2 - 2/3 the cost of the equivalent plate at Cora.

The waitress was nice. The only slight complaint I have is that the creton didn't come with mustard (are these people really from Quebec? Isn't the Q an old St. Hubert BBQ..) and it took a while before I saw the waitress again so I'd already had time to eat half of it before I got it.

  • We have visited The Q on several occasions and sometimes order takeout. I prefer to dine in, as the french fries are crispier when they're served hot and fresh. We enjoy the food and their special which includes soup, coffee/tea and dessert for an extra few dollars. I particularly enjoy the Chicken Brochette, but decided to try something different this time. The fajitas were just fine. The wine is served perfectly, nice and cold.

  • We went for lunch on a weekday when the restaurant has its 2 for 1 deals. Overall a good value, but the "deal" is not straightforward (i.e. two drink purchases are required, usual coleslaw NOT included, and gratuity is billed regardless of what kind of service you receive). I prefer their former value lunch specials and hope they someday return to that concept. Food was well presented. Dipping sauce looks like St-Hubert's but is not the same. Curry chicken was tasty but the roasted chicken leg was rather bland. Very good server who was friendly, attentive and prompt.

  • Order: Quarter Chicken (Lunch) and Curry Chicken with rice
