High Seas Fish & Chips

I ended up at this restaurant today because I was craving a pork souvlaki but have been constantly disappointed by anything in Etobicoke. I found it on this site – there were so many over the top reviews that I thought they must be phony. However, once I read the review where someone had an argument with the owner over coleslaw juice getting on their fries and said they’d never go back (but admitted it was the best fish and chips in Toronto) I knew this place must be good.

Well I didn’t have the fish and chips but WOW – I had the best pork souvlaki I’ve had in years. The Greek salad was simple with a really fresh dressing. Next time I’ll try the fish and chips for sure.

The best deal is the halibut and greek salad for the more health concious amongst us. They throw a handful of chips anyway cos you know you want a taste of their fresh cut fries.

Sometimes I get a halibut to go and he will throw a few chips anyway for taste.

Great food and great service imho.

Just have to tell you that "PERRY SQUIRES", the only person with a NEGATIVE review of this establishment ..... STILL COMES BACK EVERY WEEK for Fish & Chips.

I also STRONGLY disagree with his portrayal of the OWNER. Ask ANY of the "regulars" and they will tell you that he is ALWAYS a gentleman and goes "the extra mile" to make sure his guests are taken care of.

This is the type of local establishment where the patrons are "friends", not just customers and it is a tribute to the owner and his family that they don't have "customers' .... they have "friends" !!!

I have been eating at this restaurant for years and still love going there to eat all the time. I enjoy going there for breakfast! I also love their halibut and greek salad, and if you are in the mood for something a little more unhealthy try a banquet burger, fries and gravy!

The restaurant was above average. I don't usually write or comment on these type of things. But when something or someone stands out, I feel the need to comment. On a recent visit. I had the opportunity to be served by one of you employees. She said she was a new employee. She was most impressive. Took my order with a wonderful smile. Made sure everything was perfect. You could use more like her. She went above and beyond her duties. It's employees like that, that make you feel good and places like yours, successful. I believe her name was Diane

I have travelled extensively in Canada and the United States doing business in both countries. One of my favourite fish dishes is halibut, and have never enjoyed the preperation of the meal until i went to High Seas fish and chips.

High seas has the best fish and chips i have ever tasted. The batter is so thin and crispy and the fresh cut fries are great. The atmosphere is so friendly and inviting. We have even tried the souvlaki and it is great.

The best fish and chips in Toronto but I will never go back there . I asked for NO COLESLAW but they put it on anyway . When it was pointed out they just removed the coleslaw . I told the owner the juice from the coleslaw soaks into the batter and the chips . He got pissed and said it is only a mistake he cant throw it in the garbage . So I got pissed . I paid for my fish and chips and left without touching it . He lost a good customer today . I will still admit it is the best fish and chips in Toronto but the owners attitude was wrong .

Best fish and chips I have ever had. Very reasonable price with friendly and attentive service. Would definitely recommend.
