  • Had a great experience at Egglicious! Ive been here a couple times and it is also great from the friendly staff to the fresh and most flavourfull food you can ever find in Toronto. They have lots of Skillet Omelettes and Lots of Lunch Items. I had my Egglicious Skillet Omelette(What a omelette with bacon, ham, chedder cheese with hollandaise sauce). My wife had the Lumberjack & she loved it. The food is amazing, The staff's are very friendly, The place is clean. Even the restaurant was packed our food came on time. Lumberjack 3eggs,bacon(perfectlly cooked),sasage, homefries(the best),pancakes, fruit, toast for $9.95(good deal). My skillet was 8.95 . (not a lot of breakfast joints have skillet omelette). I would recomend this place to anyone.. The quality of the food to price.. You won't find it anywhere in Toronto. Even our next table was saying the samething about the food. BEST BREAKFAST AND LUNCH JOINT IN THE WEST END.. Thankyou Egglicious We will come back..

  • We are a couple of very polite, clean cut gentle men and were treated like stray dogs and fed like them too. Worst service I've ever received in a restaurant and the breakfast was nowhere near worth the crappy treatment. We were served well after many people who'd been sat down after we had arrived. Our meal took way to long to get to us after we ordered. I couldn't help feeling that they just couldn't wait for us to leave. Nobody asked if everything was ok. Nobody asked if we wanted anything else, even a coffee refill, ONE, would have been nice. Will never ever go back. Wild horses couldn't drag me back to that place. There are too many places I've been to nearby that offer ten times the service and far superior food. What would be the point of punishing myself with this place?

  • I have attended Egglicious in Malton on Derry Road and Goreway since it first opened regularly on Saturdays and Sundays. There were times when I went by myself, friends, family or my fiancé. However, my friends and family said they would not attend the restaurant again due to poor and slow service. I however remained loyal to Egglicious, I just simply love the food. I once had the pleasure of having the manager tell me that he wishes he had more customers like me.

On February 15, 2009, at or about 1:30 p.m., I went to Egglicious with my little brother. I was greeted and seated by a woman server of South Asian ethnicity. As usual, I first ordered a cup of tea and my little brother ordered an Apple Juice. When she brought us our drinks, after I put cream and sugar in my tea, I realized there was nothing to stir my tea with. I then said to her “Excuse me, there is no cutlery at our table.” She then says “I was going to do that now.” She turned on her heels and walked away. She came back to our table with the silverware and instead of placing our cutlery on the provided placemats, she places them on the bare table. I remained silent.

She came back to our table 5 minutes later and asked us if were ready to order. I quickly said yes and ordered the same thing I have been ordering for almost a year. A Breakfast Treat which consists of 2 eggs, home fries, bacon, toast and 3 pieces of fruits (I never get toast though, I always substitute it for French toast). I asked the server if I could substitute my home fries for French toast as I normally just substitute with regular toast. She had said “I will check and see.” I then asked for the 3 pieces of fruit to be just banana and strawberries. She said “No problem.” My little brother simply ordered French toast and sausages. 25 minutes later, our breakfast arrived by A DIFFERENT server. I quickly noticed that I had the French toast, NO HOMEFRIES, but my 3 pieces of fruits consisted of honeydew, an orange slice and a piece of cantaloupe. I am allergic to cantaloupe. I had advised the server that I had asked for strawberries and bananas. She quickly picked up my plate and told me that she would go change my fruit. My little brother had mentioned to her that he had ordered sausages and he didn’t get them. The server said that she would bring him his sausages. The server returned with my plate and a sauce of 2 sausages for my brother. The South Asian server then walked by and said to us as we were eating “Your lucky that you got those sausages because you didn’t order them.” My little brother said “Yes, I did.” She then says “Well, seeing as how you ordered them, I’m going to charge you for it.” My little brother said “That’s fine, I ordered the sausages.” She walked away.

We finished our breakfast and I asked for the bill. The same server that had brought us our breakfast, brought me the bill of about $25.00, and I noticed that I was charged $1.50 for the substitution of the home fries for the French toast. I called over the South Asian server and asked her why I was charged for the French toast if I had no home fries. She says to me “Well, you substituted your home fries for French toast and normally French toast is $3.25, but because you substituted I only charged you $1.50. I then said to her “I have been coming here for almost a year, every single weekend. French toast is $2.25, not $3.25.” She said nothing. I continued “I asked for a substitution for French toast instead of homefries, which you were supposed to check to see if it was possible and you did not get back to me.” She then says “I said yes you can.” I said to her “No, you did not because had you had said yes, I would have told you not to go ahead with the French toast.” So clearly she already lied to me twice. She then says “You are a troublemaker and if your desperate not to pay the $1.50 then don’t pay it.” I said to her, “That’s a very rude thing to say and it has nothing to do with if I can afford to pay $1.50 or not. You were supposed to return to me and advise me on whether or not the substitution was possible and you did not. Instead you charge me for the French toast and then lie to me about the price and lie about you saying you told me the substitution was possible.” I asked to speak to her manager and she hissed and said that she was the manger. Which I know for a fact she is not because the manager is a man who I have spoken to many times. She then repeats herself and says “ if your that desperate about the $1.50.…” I cut her off and turned to my little brother and said let’s go. She raises her voice and said “Your not going to pay?” I said no and walked to the cash register. I asked another server for a pen and paper and said to her that I was going to write down my name and number. I told her that I only live 5 minutes away. I asked her to have the manager call me because if he explains this to me better then she can, then I will definitely come back and pay the bill. I don’t stiff people. Meantime, the Asian server who claimed to be the manager was telling the girl not to give me a pen or paper. As I was writing my name and number down, the “manager” was attempting to push my purse off the counter and the only reason why my purse didn’t fall was because my little brother had his arm blocking the edge. At this point everyone in the restaurant was staring as us, embarrassing me and the “manager” was still causing a scene as I remained quiet. The “manager” then said she was going to call the police. She did. I said to her “Your funny. You were the one pushing my things off the counter but yet you’re the one calling the police.” She then hung up the phone and called up the REAL manager.

She handed me the phone and I stepped outside to avoid any further embarrassment and explained to him what happened from when I walked into the restaurant till now. He then apologized on her behalf and said that our breakfast was of no charge. I walked back into the restaurant, handed the phone to the “manager” and said “It looks like breakfast is on you. Please fix your customer service skills.” I turned to the rest of the staff and said “Ladies, enjoy the rest of your day.” I left.

On April 2, 2009, I returned to Egglicious for the first time since the incident with my fiancé at around 8:30 p.m. (different staff). I ordered the usual, my fiancé ordered his usual, we ate and left. It just so happens that the chef at the time was the REAL manager.

On April 4, 2009, my fiancé wanted to go to Egglicious for breakfast. I figure, no problem, we were there on Thursday. We walked into the restaurant about 11:44 a.m., and the same women (“manager”) came over to us and said “I’m not serving you.” I simply said “We were here on Thursday and there was no problem.” She said she didn’t care and told us to get out. The restaurant was PACKED and I felt eyes watching us. I told her that I wanted to speak to the manager and she said that she was the manager. She then said that she was going to call the police and she did. I continued to stand there and listened to her speak on the phone when my fiancé gently grabbed my arm and said lets go, let her act that way by herself. I walked to the cash register and said to one of the servers that I would be back to do a take out order because my fiancé was hungry. I thought she doesn’t have to serve me, but she can serve him. However, he didn’t want to eat there after what he just witnessed. I then called Egglicious at about 11:30 p.m. the same night to speak to the manager. I apprised him of everything that happened earlier and asked him if he recalled the first incident on February 15, 2009, which he said yes. I asked him if he was the manager or if she was and he said that she is NOT the manager but she has money in the company (his exact words). I said to him that she was rude this morning and if she simply did not want me there, she could been discreet about it as opposed to causing yet another scene in the packed restaurant. He said that he would speak to her and that if she doesn’t want me there that I shouldn’t come back. He also told me that he was not privy to the first incident, yet I asked him if he recalled it and he told me yes. I asked him “Are you saying that the way she treated my fiancé, little brother and I was right?” He said in a flat tone “ I’m not saying she is right, but she has money in the company. So, we don’t deserve you as a customer and maybe you shouldn’t come back. I simply said Thank you and he hung up the phone on me.

Do I think he is going to speak to her? No. Does he have no morals or scruples? I can’t believe that this is the end result. I have run into 2 staff members that were present on February 15, 2009, who have told me that she was wrong, but of course they can’t say anything about it. Maybe I was wrong. Who knows? I just know that I obviously am going to urge people not to eat there. I am shocked and disgusted at their lack of people and customer service skills. I plan on putting an article in the newspaper because I have never felt so disrespected and embarrassed, especially by a place that I remained loyal to despite the negative things I’ve heard.

I'm sorry to hear about your expierence Rochelle, however have you thought of writing this to workers union and having this asian lady fired? My recommendation is to take further action & see what can be done about this!

  • The food was mediocre at best and the service practically non-existant. I ordered the hamburger/home fries/pop combo, which would seem pretty standard. It was probably the worst burger I've ever had at a restaurant - it was quite large, but size couldn't make up for the fact that it was absolutely tasteless. The home fries on the other hand were quite good.

My boyfriend liked his corned beef sandwich. He'd ordered home fries with it but we had to remind the waitress to bring them. He also ordered a scrambled egg on the side which was undercooked.

Service was horrible. After bringing us our food, the waitress never came back to check on us, even though the restaurant was relatively empty. Since she never returned, I couldn't ask for the pop that she forgot to bring. I ended up going to the counter myself after our meal was finished to get it. She never came to clear our table, and we didn't get a bill, so we went to the counter to pay when we were done (I guess that's standard there, but again we weren't sure, we just hadn't had any other service after our food arrived, and we were ready to leave). Upon giving us our bill, I noticed that we had been charged for the "included" pop in my combo, the same one I'd had to eventually go get myself. It was taken off the bill when I pointed it out, although I also had to remind her that the tax on that item had to be removed as well.

I definitely WOULD NOT recommend this restaurant and will not be returning.

  • My husband and I have now had breakfast twice at Egglicious. Both times we were pleasantly surprised at the food and the service. The portions are huge and even our grandkids were happy with the portions. We have passed this restaurant for several years and had never gone in before until recently. I'm so glad we did because we were very happy with the breakfasts. The fruit served on the side was a really nice touch. I would like to come back for lunch one day but honestly would say the breakfasts met our expectations and then some!

  • 1st time at Egglicious as I had heard good things about the establishment. They are only open until the late afternoon 7 days a week. It looks like a typical hole-in-the-wall greasy spoon breakfast spot but the food was a bit better than that. The corned beef sandwich was quite good & I highly recommend it but that's where it ends. My mother ordered the pancakes with Apple strudel but when the pancakes arrived there was no strudel. The waitress came back with some orange slices instead and informed us they were out of strudel. Well orange slices are hardly a substitute for strudel. No apology from the waitress and she told us that's just the was it is. The bacon & eggs were not done to order as the bacon was ordered crispy but came quite limp and the eggs were not over hard but over easy. Now the kicker was the burger when the burger arrived it came between 2 pieces of white bread and the waitress informed us they were out of hamburger buns. My wife sent it back and had the corned beef instead. No apologies from the waitress, no offer of a discount that day or on a future visit. Maybe they were having a bad day but I was not pleased. ....and to top it all off we we're the only party in the restaurant. Maybe we shouldn't have arrived there at 2 pm. If you go to Egglicious stick to the corned beef and expect slower service and you'll be fine.
