Incredible food and appetizing presentation...but be sure to bring your laptop/Blackberry (or be in the company of delightful intelligent people as we were) as you will be waiting for your entree (and the bread and the water) til the cows come home (oh, so that's why my steak took 2 hours to prep...)
- Order: caesar salad, steak, lobster&veal, pastas, sampling desserts, wine
- A little too pretentious for my tastes

For top tier prices I expected a lot more. Most restaurants in the neighbourhood feel like they belong while Cru feels horribly out of place. I think this is the type of "experience" you expect out of Yorkville; wait staff that seem arrogant and food that is complicated just for the sake of complication.
The restaurant itself is modern and attractive, but I can think of at least 10 other restaurants within 5 kms that have better food and service at a better price point.

Why do reviewers mis-represent the quality of this restaurant? Nothing outstanding here....Bland, plain.
Chef forgot one ingredient...''Taste''. Best dishes... quite bland. Is seasoning verboten here?? Wine was good...desert ok. Why the patronizing attitude from server? Is this the supposed first 5-star eatery on the Kingsway? We're not quite there yet...

The food was very original and tasty! The special needs diet was accommodated VERY well with little lead time. We went early and the place started filling up fairly quickly. We were trying to make a movie and the service was right on target to that goal. All in all a nice surprise right in our own neighbourhood! We shall return!

We had 25 for a baptism lunch/dinner. A wonderful celebration that was completed with an excellent experience at CRU. Nothing but great things to say about the tastiness of the meal as well as the presentation and service.

We all went for the 2-course special wich we felt gave us more than enough to eat. The food was delicious - and unlike the last reviewer, we thought it more than enough. The server was attentive but not overly so.

The menu had changed since the last time I had been there. It is very overpriced for the amount of food and type of food served. They describe the dishes with vegetables etc. But when they came, the size of the portions were ridiculous with little dollops of pureed vegetables--yuck!! They were about the size of a tooney!! We were so hungry when we left, that we went to Demetries for a big dessert! We felt like we were in the A&W commercial! Will never go back! Just because it is in the Kingsway, does not mean that people will pay ridiculous prices for tidbits of food!

This was a new restaurant for us and we will definitely return. We were surprised at how busy the restaurant was on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving - luckily they had a table for us. The atmosphere was casual and welcoming, service was attentive and the food was top notch. I could not decide what to try as there were many interesting combinations. The mushroom soup (veloute) was to die for and the daily special -- pumpkin ravioli was not only wonderful to look at but delicious. We will return as soon as we can.
- Order: Mushroom veloute, Steak Frites, House Shiraz; daily special salad, daily special main;
