This place was highly recommended, but I'm at a loss to understand why. The salads were good and the dessert selection was impressive but the entrees left a lot to be desired. Very poor quality. We were there early evening and many of the trays were empty and not refilled. Mashed potatoes must have come from a packet. A lot of the food was lukewarm. We were totally unimpressed with what we had and wouldn't go back to this place.

We have been regular customers here and did find it rather plain, but liked the home style food and feel.
Our groups over the years have ranged from 2 -80 people.
We just took my parents and had a terrible experience. Arrived just in time for the supper buffet and were seated. As we proceeded to start, getting our food ( buffet style) we started with luke warm soup from an almost empty soup pot. (it was never refilling during our visit) Moving on to the meal it got worse, the entire hot food section was empty, dried out and looked to be left over from lunch.(also never refilled during our visit) This was to be a treat on us for my parents. I could tell they were not happy with what was served, quess they were as displeased as my wife and myself. Not wanting to cause any problems at that point, We paid and left, feeling I could address it when I was in a better frame of mind. I called a manager (Julie) when I was calm the next day. She said she would check on it and get back to me.
This was done and a few days later , she called and kindly offereed to send us a $50.00 cert. This was less that our food bill , but we did enjoy dessert.
When the cert. arrived, it was for $15.00 so I called to make sure no mistake was made. I was just going to use it to take my wife and parents for a hopefully better experience. Julie said than the amount was correct. I guess it was all my satisfaction and future bussiness was worth to them?
So in closing, if you are looking for a place to get plain, poor quality, dry lunch leftovers for supper, try this place.
I know they have lost us as a customers and I will never send any business their way again. - Order: Supper Buffet

Not to bad, nothing that you cant whip up at home. Mennonite food. Meat and potatoes. A older crowd, a lot of bus tours, can be very full. Cool gift shop in the front. Better off to go to the Stone Crock in St. Jacobs or better yet the Black Forest Inn in Conestoga.

This restaurant attracts a fairly large number of older and, well, larger people. Small wonder. The food's OK, and there's all you can eat at basically every sitting. They ask when you arrive if you'll be ordering from a menu. I suspect few people do. The selection of food is adequate, but most of the offerings are a bit on the bland side. Avoid the beef, as it's relatively chewy.

They have renovated and made the place bigger which they needed. It is always full.
Service is excellent!and friendly ! Always right there to pick up your empty dishes.
If you go away hungry from this buffet you only have yourself to blame. They also have a nice gift shop. - Order: The best buffet in the area by far Variety of salads, roast beef, turkey and ham, potatoes or french fries, fish, and on and on!! Desserts to die for!! all homemade

The food was pretty good, but it would have been nice to have a homemade type gravy. The home fries weren't really home fries though, more like just regular fries, so that was dissapointing. Service was a little slow, but friendly.

This place has lost it's country feel. It is too big and too far to walk and I'm not even that old. The food was mediocre and the service not fantastic. What happened??

It has been renovated and made bigger. It is very far to walk to the buffet from some areas now. What they need to do is provide trays to put your plate on. It is difficult for some to walk that far with a hot plate of food. I have been there quite a bit and every time it is the same food. Do they not rotate menu's for the buffet.

Simply enough this buffet style restaurant offers fresh home cooked, wholesome food. You won't be able to brag about exotic dishes but that means nothing to the great meal you will enjoy if you visit the Crossroads. By the way the desert tble is to die for, with a selection of pies that will floor you. Well worth the effort to arrange a reservation.
- Order: Just plain old fashioned wholesome homestyle food served up buffet style
