Great food Great Service, staff seem to bed over backwards for their guests. We kind of make up our own nacho order and they get it bang on every time. I can't say how nice the staff are, just feel so relaxed going there. as for other people saying food isn't healthy.... why are you at a pub?! pubs are for pub food, and The Cactus would be a place I would be proud to own.

Most amazing place to visit and eat at. If your looking for a great place to hang out with friends and eat and talk this is the place for you. I compare Thirsty Cactus to the coffee house on friends and it is my absolute favorite place to go. The food is amazing and sizzling hot and the service is great! The atmosphere is great and friendly. I reccomend it for families, friends and even just a date night.

My wife and I had been long time patrons of the thirsty cactus and have always had pleasant experiences. However, after the ditz who served us today it will be a long time before we go back.
The food is usually pretty good and the servers + kitchen has had no problems changing the meal a bit to accommodate our healthy diet. For example, serving us a side of carrots, celery and peppers instead of the usual high fat, though free nachos and cheese. Today however, we were told for the first time that supposedly "the manager" didn't like that being done and the only healthy option was just plain nachos and salsa. Our server blinked several times, and stared blankly when I told her it was the nachos in general, and not just the cheese that we don't want. She curtly replied to our request "No".
In addition to this, she proceeded to tell me I had bland taste when I asked for some creams to be removed from my meal. I thought her attitude could use some work. As my meal was a main course, it came with a side salad, coleslaw, or fries (shudder). I asked for my usual baked potato, and to my surprise, I was charged extra for it. This is not service and the restaurant's reputation has been ruined to us. I didn't complain about the extra charge as I have more class than to worry about a dollar. However, that dollar just cost them a weekly $30 in revenue from the two of us.
I would recommend the restaurant if you're just in it for some food, and don't care what the fat content of the meal is. However, remember that they are not very courteous!
PS The potato was very salted today.

This restaurant knows how to keep people coming back. Their friendly personality is great. We were seated right away, given complimentary chips, and drinks in minutes. Our food was timed well - even with having an appetizer. Our server was great at suggesting items on the menu and describing them to us. We really enjoyed our visit.
- Order: Agave Dip with pita and chips, club sandwich with fresh cut fries, 1/2 rack of side ribs in Tenesse whiskey sauce with baked potatoe, strawberry-banana margarita, Wellington SPA

My son and I stopped for dinner this past weekend after going to the Dundas Cactus Festival. We sat outside on the covered patio. Even though the staff were quite busy with the festival, they were still very friendly and attentive.
The nacho's are one of the best I've ever had and my son thoroughly enjoyed his Chimichanga. We'll definetly be coming back :) - Order: Buenos Nacho's and Chimichanga

The service was awful, the food was awful and the restaurant manager's attitude was appaling!
The Thirsty Cactus may look adorable from the outside, but that is where it ends. I will never return to that place ever again nor would I ever reccomend it.
We waited an hour for our food and when it finally arrived it was cold and totally unsatisfying. The waitress was clueless and the Manager had no class at all.
I have personally worked in a restaurant for several years and have also held several managerial roles and never ever have I come across such a terrible display of customer service or food quality.

Our walk to the restaurant was well worth it! The atmosphere was nice, and we were seated promptly. The server was very nice and made sure we were happy. The catfish was ordered blackened and came with rice and steamed veggies, and it was delicious (although the rice was a little cold), and the chicken pasta was excellent, and a large portion too! Overall, a good experience, and an enjoyable lunch! Will definitely return to the Thirsty Cactus :)

I have never had such a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE IN A RESTAURANT EVER!! We waited for an hour before being served with our meals. The appetizer (riblets) was comparible to dog food, and the service was terrible. When we were finally served with our food, my soup was cold, the shrimp was stringy and the Beef Burrito had one or two pieces of beef in it. When we asked to speak to the manager, she was EXTREMELY RUDE and was not willing to accomodate us at all. I have worked in Customer Service for the past 10 years and I have never seen or treated customers as terrible as the management at the thirsty cactus treated my boyfriend and I. I would never reccomend this restuarant to anyone!

Good bargain and friendly service. House wine was very bad, not sure if it always tastes like this or if it is just not a big seller and had been opened too long. The runny cheese sauce on the nachos is not very good but it was free and the actual nachos are good. Pulled pork sandwich awesome, comes with a nice little salad. 7 layer dip would feed an army for $9. First trip to Dundas downtown. Unfortunately, it was a Sunday and nothing much was open.
- Order: Red House Wine (Rockway Estate Winery); Wellington Beer (one light one dark); Margerita; Complimentary nachos with cheese sauce; 7 Layer Dip with pita/nachos; Pulled pork sandwich
