Golden Fish & Chips

My aunt told us about this place so we took the drive Hamilton, as we usually go to the same place. We enjoyed the fish so much as it was really cooked and the batter was crispy. The fries were great. When your a young couple on a fixed income, this is so much cheaper than eating at home. No mess to clean up. The restaurant was so clean. Great service.

I was referred to the restaurant by my daughter. We ordered the fish and chip special. It was so good and we were given such large portions. The restaurant was so clean, such a nice fresh atmosphere. Worth the drive from Hamilton and Burlington.

My husband brought me there for fish and chips as he had visited the restaurant before. We have always gone to the same place for years. It was not until I went to Golden Fish and Chips, that I realized this would be my new place. The fish batter was very crispy, the portions were large, the fries (real pototoes). Everything was wonderful. We have recommended it to our family and friends.

I am not commenting on the restaurant because I ordered my dinner for takeout. I ordered 2 pops, which were not put with my order and when I got the food home, I found that the fish was incredibly mushy. On further inspection, it was almost raw! I would have went back to get my order right, but it was quite a drive back to Ancaster. I would not take the chance and go there again. I would recommend Whitneys Fish and Chips, but they had run out of chips so I tried Golden. Never again.

Great, fast sevice from a very nice staff. Food was delicious, best fries ever, awsome fish, descent coleslaw. I took off the batter of the fish, though it wasn't overly battered anyway. Not the best decor, but it would not stop me from returning. Excellent dinner!

Excellent, loved the dinner, ate lots, especially enjoyed the price. Would recommend it to anyone.

I used to eat her years ago and just moved back to Dundas, I was pleasantly surprised how clean the new owner have it. Light and crispy batter and the hand cut fries were outstanding. I got two pieces of whitefish and chips for $2.99 which is a tremendous value, dont know how they can make any money at that price. I will go back in a heartbeat now they finally open on Sundays.

I use to love this restaurent when it was run by Francis and his family, but I find it has gone down hill since then, especially with the portions. I wish they would be more consistant with their portions. You might go one time and the portions are adequate but, another time, you need a magnifying glass to find the fish. I had that experience the last time I visited. Albeit I had ordered the Monday / Tuesday special. I received two pieces of fish, which sounds great. However, one was the size of a cell phone and the other the size of a large pen, and I am not really exaggerating. I find they are skimpy on the French Fries, as well. I realize that sometimes it has to do with what fish is left in the fryer. But, please, try to be consistant in the sizes! I find that the Connaught Fish and Chips a much better buy, and you will not be disappointed. Guess where I go now? I would go back to Golden Fish and Chips, but only in a pinch, as they say. Willing to give it another try, but not as excited about that place as I use to be.

I eat Fish & Chips all over the world. I confess to be an expert in the field. The fish was a large portion cooked to perfection, the batter light golden and crispy. The friesare the best around. I have referred many people to this restauant. Outstanding

Excellent taste. Generally good portions. Fish and fries were cooked just right. I would return on my next visit to Dundas.
