The Alphorn Restaurant

When the power went out in town, we headed to the Alphorn for dinner. We hadn't been there for many years and had forgotten just how good the food and service are there. We enjoyed a delicious tomato and asparagus salad, fantastic schnitzel, and yummy rhubarb pie. Even though the place was packed, service did not suffer. We look forward to a return visit.

Best schnitzels around. Soups are always great. Really a wonderful place.

I love the alphorn! Great atmosphere, very traditional and always interesting. Awesome swiss food, shnitzel is always killer and the fondue is great. Great place to have a good time.

loved the place from the moment I walked in had the best caesar salad followed by cheese fondue which was awesome and then schnitzel like I've never tasted before amazing beer all around a fantastic experience wonderful family environment and you won't believe what happens if you tell them its your birthday

Schnitzel was okay - too much breading, not enough crispy crunch but what was horrible was that the potatoes and veg were overcooked, dried out and flavourless. Also, the salad was boring and the dressing was tasteless. I adore good schnitzel - everyone recommends this place and I was HUGELY disappointed.

Their salads were just piles of pale yellow leaves and very tasteless....not a good way to start. The rest of the meal was OK.

I absolutely loved the alphorn just walking in. It oozed comfort and kitsch lol. My bf and I were impressed by the fact that they offered fondue I don't know of many restaurants that do. Truely refreshing and purely entertaining, and best french onion soup ever. Cheers!

Month after month, year after year, I go back to this restaurant. They know our orders & they always give us fabulous service. The food is second to none (my mother has been to Switzerland and says the schnitzel HERE is better!). I love this restaurant - it's always a treat to go!

It's a traditional Swiss restaurant, with taxidermied animals,sports paraphenalia, and lots of atmosphere. It's family-friendly,casual, with yodeling music. Very busy and hectic during ski season. Don't know how much of the food is home-made rather than restraunt processed. The rye bread appetizer was excellent and fresh. The beer choices novel and the side noodles and vegetables were perfect.
