  • This place was fantastic! The food and variety of sauces were delicious! The platter for two is definitely filling, but dessert must be squeezed in. The authentic Mexican dessert is well worth the visit. If you like hot chocolate, you will really enjoy the authentic Mexican hot chocolate both the smell and taste is delectable.

  • I loved this place. I live in downtown Toronto and eat out four nights a week. I'll admit that, consequently, I've become a bit of a food snob and when my friend in Stayner suggested a Mexican restaurant in Collingwood, I expected Mexican pub fare. What a delight to discover Frida's serves delicious, authentic Mexican food, in a cozy, comfortable, and sophistocated atmosphere that beats even my fave Mexican spot in TO. The staff are warm and friendly. The value is amazing. I'm looking forward to our next visit.

  • aside from the photos on the wall i have no idea why they would name the place after frida... they attempted to name some dishes after her and her husban with no ture conection... anyway some of the food i tried was very good and the rest very plain and boring... the service was the very worst i ever experienced and i like to eat out alot!!! we were there for almost 3.5 hours! and the servers complained it was busy with only two other partys in the whole place... they obviously gave our dinner to the table next to us who had come in an hour later than we did... we watched everything we ordered from aps to our dinner go to them long before we saw our food... it was late and we had children with us from the age of 3 to 6 so we couldnt leave bc they were very hungry... the seating is mostly sofa chairs not the best for a party of 10... we had to sit at two different tables... Id go back for tapas and drinks bc i liked the soup and quesadila but i know no one would come with me bc the service was so bad so i quess never again... the menue which is mostly in english is miss leading and aside from the cook no one is mexican... my beans where stone cold as if they came from a fridge to my plate... and the staff was attempting to make "cool excuses" like " so glad my hangover went away" and the guy the guy who gave our food away said something to the effect of " what can you do its late and we just got a rush..." 2 hours after we had been there 2 other small tables showed up...

  • Order: I tried alot of things from soup to enchiladas... and a aste of everyone elses food!

  • We "attempted" to go to Frida twice. The first time they left us standing at the doorway looking like a couple of idiots for about 5 minutes. A woman finally came over, looking as if we were intruding, and said there would be a wait of approximately 30 minutes. The place was half empty!
Second attempt (I try to always give a second chance), we showed up on a Monday night at 7:00 and it was closed. No sign indicated why, no sign indicated hours. I tried phoning and all I got was a message saying they couldn't come to the phone. Everything I had seen indicated they would be open.
    I give up.

  • Order: We didn't get a chance to eat because they ignored us at the door

  • Sometimes I think that Collingwood restaurants really rely on their customers being one time vistors... Both my husband and I were really excited when this restaruant opened. We were very sadly disappointed. Not only was the food cold and tastless, there debit mashine wasn't working and they didn't tell us until the end of the meal. My husband had to run in the snow storm to find a bank mashine while I sat there looking and feeling so stupid. We shouldn't have paid. DON'T GO HERE IT IS THE WORST!
