First Street Bistro

This is our very favourite Collingwood restaurant. We try others but always return to First Street Bistro. We always visit when we're up to ski. The food is consistent in its excellence. The service is the best.

I am amazed at the superb restaurants we have found in this little town. We were bowled over by the delicious food and friendly service at First Street Bistro. A return visit will be high on our to-do list when we come back to Collingwood.

I ordered the schnitzel from their Oktoberfest menu. It was the best schnitzel I have ever had, tender, juicy, tasty. I think it should be on their regular menu!

I was in town for a few days of relaxation to get away from the stress of work. I started off at the spa and wanted a good mean to finish off the day. When I got to the Bistro I was happy to see a small but good looking place that was clearly well cared for. The interior was homely, but still quite cozy.

I was quickly seated by Nancy, and did not feel rushed to order. Eventually I went with all of the feature dishes for the day, and some Australian white wine to go with that. The food was amazing; clearly quite a bit of thought went into the presentation and preparation.

For desert I asked to use my own tea, and was happy to get a pot of hot water. After dinner I spent some time talking with other diners, and found them to be good conversation. The total experience was very pleasing, and I will definitely be returning, hopefully with more people.

A clerk in a Collingwood gift shop recommended this restaurant to us. We thank her very much. Our evening in this charming bistro was delightful. The food and service were excellent.

Disappointment. Ordered a veal meal and rec'd beef instead.

The food was served piping hot with a smile. The best thing about this restaurant is its consistency. We always recommend this restaurant to visiting friends and know that they won't be disappointed.
