There was a time when I went to this restaurant on a regular basis (at least monthly)...one server got to know us and treated us well, but the owner never once said hello or asked about our meals. The owner also reprimanded his staff in full view of guests with increasing frequency. Because of this I will not go there again.

I have dinned here several times, and EVERY time I am disgusted with the owner. He seems to have no respect for the staff or customers. I have heard him use foul language to his waitresses in full view of customers. He is often sitting at the bar enjoying a drink while people are waiting to be seated. I also got the feeling of being unwelcome while dinning there for an early dinner in the summer. The food is great, and the portions are a good size, the restaurant is very nice. It's a shame the owner doesn't have the same quality as the restaurant. Im sure i will be back, but only for the food.

Too dark, drafty in the winter, hard to get a drink. The waitress never comes around. DO NOT ORDER MARTINIS HERE, notorious for short pours, you will not be happy and complaining will not get you anywhere. Food is so-so, mainly depending on how many people are dining if the place is more than half full you will be there for at least 2 hours. Also, owner usually fights with waitresses in front of everyone. Been there enough to say " don't bother" take 45 min and drive to windsor. I'll bet you'll make it home before you would get your bill at OPus and probably save money too>

We had a party of 42 there for lunch. We had confirmed the number so you knew exactly how many were coming. You ran out of soup, and only had 2 choices of salad dressing for those of us who got stuck with the salad. Also, a couple of people ended up with Chicken Cacciatore without the chicken. Service was very slow.

For a reservation for a large party the staff had nicely arranged the tables for our arrival. The ambience was intimately lit though the tables were unlevel and some teetered and required adjustment. The restaurant was primarily empty except for our party and the service was weak at best at worse...frustrating. The chef had ample time to enjoy his drink of Guinness in plain view though the waitress failed to ensure the customers were with a beverage, be it water or otherwise. The Hors-d'oeuvres were acceptable. The waitress failed to recall the 3 special although she?d just repeated them to other members of the party and had to rely on a note. I would have thought to see the entrees include a small salad or soup, it did not. The entrees portion sizes were adequate though arrived extremely staggered for all the guests. Fortunately we came to the conclusion that waiting for all the entrees to be served would be fruitless and so to ensure the entrees remained hot each guest everyone ate as his or her meal arrived. Much to the surprise of some this did not ensure the meal was hot. The staff was careful to remind each guest that the plates were hot, which indeed they were, but the meals themselves were warm at best, cool at worst. One guest received tea in a pot that was cool. I am not a restaurateur though I have dined in my share of fine dining establishments; this was not one of them.

Agreed with a previous reviewer. It is a treat to have a change of atmosphere within the predictable restaurants of Chatham, but it took ordering the wild mushroom brushetta twice to get it once, and service was indeed slow.
The server had to make a 'quick run' to the liquer store to get the wine of our choice as well.I think that I will go back for taste and atmosphere, but that is only because it's Chatham's only Martini Lounge with Atmosphere.

I have eaten at this restaurant on three occasions and every time the food was quite good. On my last visit I had the "much touted" Sea Food Enchilada. It is a seafood mixture in a creamy sauce wrapped in a crepe. As I said, the food is always very good but the service is poor. Servers are forgetful and slow. My main complaint is due to the fact that one does not really feel welcome. The owner has never once said "hello" even when I was the only customer in the place.Fine food is only one part of any dining experience a friendly welcome is another.
