Mamma Maria's Ristorante

This is definialty the BEST place I have eaten at! We showed up on a busy Friday night with no reservations and the doorman and the bus person went out of their way to get us a table in less than 10 minutes. We started with drinks at the bar and finished with the best tiramsu I have ever had anywhere. We stayed about 3 hours talking to are friends and the staff . We were never rushed and felt so comfortable we felt like we were at our friends. Everyone in our party loved what they ordered and even though we are from out of town we guaranteed we would be back with other friends as we feel we found our new hot spot .

This restaurant is fantastic. The decor matches anything a Toronto Italian spot could offer. I enjoy walking down from the front door, past the Venetian canal wallscape, to the back dining area, to the back porch area. The owners have put some bucks into Mamma Marias and the ambiance feels Italian.
We have tried several items off the menu and every dish has been superb. They have a great wine list too. The waitresses have all been attentive to our needs.
Haven't experienced lunch there yet but that menu looks yummy as well. This restaurant does Chatham proud.

We were greeted at the door in a very welcoming manner and promptly taken to our table. Our server also greeted us in a very friendly manner. We were off to a good start. All the courses arrived in good timing so we didn't feel we were waiting for the food to arrive. The entrees arrived hot and well-prepared and presented in a pleasing way! Kudos to all at this restaurant.

The service was slow, the chicken was so dry not even the sauce made it edible. My husbands steak was more like a 4oz not a 10oz steak. The pastas were watery. All they had to do was drain the pasta before they tossed it in the sauce. Common i can do a better job at home. And it doesnt cost me 25$ to do it. We wont be back it wasnt a very pleasant night at all.

I've been frequently going to this restaurant for two years.. cannot believe the negative comments made on this page. We've never had a problem in two years.. Never any problems with service or food.. extremely consistent. They are always accomidating, and making us feel like we're at home.

My wife and I have noticed that Mama Marias has the most reviews out of every single restaurant in Chatham.. why is that so? I wonder..

Where do I start? We went there for a get together. I have been there a few months previously and had a bad experience and decided to give it another try. LOL....to my surprise it was like a bad re run of before. Food was cold, and burnt on the outside and I have to laugh at the others on here that had the same experience cause I know how they feel.....Bruschetta was soggy. We returned the cold food and got attitude from the waitress saying we likely left it sitting for too long. Not so. I think we had to stand on our head to get water, and drinks never got refilled. We did not eat the food because when the "warmed up" food came it was burnt. Anyone restaurant can have a nice atmosphere to fool people into thinking that they have good food....but it is definately over rated and over priced. We will not return.....good luck!

I would NOT return to this restaurant even if it were the last one on the planet!! (If I could select zero I would)
Our visit started with the waiter dropping a glass of red wine onto my husbands lap. The wine also splashed onto my brothers white shirt & jeans and across the table towards me. While my husband was in the washroom trying to clean the red wine out of his shirt & pants, both the waiter & manager told him that our meal would be “taken care of” for this unfortunate accident. So we agreed to stay, after all we were celebrating with a group, lived out of town and were already paying a babysitter. The manager never once came out to our table until the end of the meal when we refused to pay the bill. After all, my husband was told, our meals would be “taken care of”. My brother took his bill to the waiter and the waiter told him “I have to pay out of my pocket, so I would appreciate it if you would pay…”. The manager advised that they would pay for my husband and my brother’s meal but the spouses would have to pay for their meals and any appetizers. We were not satisfied with that since they had already said to my husband our meals would be “taken care of”. (It was now the principle of honoring your word!!). The manager said he would have to talk with the top chef. (WHAT?) So he leaves the table and returns moments later. He tells us that they will cover the meal but not the drinks (we each only ordered one drink and one of them was spilt on my husband). Once again, that was not the agreement. I explained to the manager that my husband had to sit through the meal, soaking wet from the neck to the knees in an outfit that is now ruined. The manager’s response to me was “I offered him a shirt of mine”. Once again, not the response we were looking for. Customer service is definitely not their forte!!!. I will never return to this restaurant nor will the people from our table of 11 and countless others who have heard about our experience. However, we were told to bring in our dry cleaning bill and they would pay…I’m not holding my breath.

Pathetic service with no personality. Greeted with rudeness and had to chase server for food, drinks and bill. I can understand though as there was no one else dinning at that time so the tremendous stress of serving NO ONE ELSE is understandable. We have dined at the finest restaurants in North America and this was one experience I will have a laugh over for many years to come.

All diners in our party were extremely pleased with both the food and the service. We were celebrating a birthday and the waitress arrived with a lovely dessert for the birthday person - without our asking and at no extra charge!

the atmosphere is beautiful-we were visiting family -wish they had a place in milton--made us feel very welcomed --the food was delicious -lamb was cooked to perfection-veal was sooo tender--keep up the great work
