Sushi California

Outstandingly fresh Sushi. The owner/sushi master seems to make it his mission to serve only the best, freshest and most delicious sushi around. We were very impressed by the integrity of the owner. We were ordering sushi for take out in the early afternoon for a dinner later that evening. Halfway through the order he found out that we were going to be eating it later and he advised us to pick it up freshly prepared closer to our dinner time. Not only did we appreciate his honestly, he served us what he had just prepared, free of charge! It was much more important for the owner for us to experience his food the way he thought we should then to just make a sale. We will never order sushi (in Cambridge) anywhere else! me and my boyfriend went there last week for the first time and it was really good. we both love sushi and i have tried all three places in cambridge as well as sushi in other cities.
we ordered the dinner a to share with an extra miso and the server advised us that would be enough for the both of us as we were considering ordering a contemporary roll on the side.
i liked how the meal came in pieces as opposed to a whole box at once.
we got soups and salad first, then a plate with a yakitori skewer (it had chicken with diff veg alternating) and 3 deep fried gyoza, then a huge plate of tempura (only one shrimp tho, ring of onion, green pepper, half a ring of squash, two piece of yam!my fav and button mushroom cut in halves) and last came all the sushi.. we picked s7 roll i forget the name but it was shrimp tempura with avocado wrapped with more avocado and unagi outside!so good and large (8 pieces). it also came with 3 of each: salmon, red and white tuna sashimi and 2 salmon, 2 white tuna and 1 ebi, 1 red tuna nigiri sushi. at the end you get a little bowl of ice cream to share, they didnt ask what flavour we wanted but we got red bean (they didnt tell us this i just knew cuz ive had it before).
the meal was amazing it was quiet in there but two other small groups came in while we were there (for about an hour) and they had several take out orders placed.
the only thing i didnt like was that they didnt give us a tea pot which i find annoying cuz we really drink a lot and i kept trying to ration it as he only came by once to offer us some more.
overall i really enjoyed everything, the experience and food and will go back again.
oh actually one bad thing was (not really their fault) that the adult store next to it had their door wide open and you could see into it that door is on an angle towards the restuarants door. we are in our early twenties and not prudish by any means but i thought that was really tacky/awkward.

If you want to try different dishes, you might want to consider Dinner A or B. This restaurant is fabulous - it's small but has a great atmosphere. If you are looking for quality sushi, this is your place. The staff is courteous and accommodating. This is an authentic Japanese restaurant, run by Japanese folks (not Chinese). Also try the Dragon and Dynamite Roll.

the most important thing in sushi is the freshness. IT wasn't fresh at all.

We ordered take-out and the first thing my husband commented on was how courteous the staff were when he went in. Or order wasn't quite ready so they brought him some miso soup while he waited and were very friendly.

Nice atmosphere, very quick and friendly staff. The sushi was much better than what we've seen around the area and very competitive pricing. Fish was fresh and delicious.

EXCELLENT! We love going there for dinner. We love how the chefs greet you when your leaving and coming in.

oh... this restaurant is really good.
I really don't want to spread this restaurant because I don't wanna line up every fridayte trying to find a sushi place. ask something spicy! you will experience a different taste.
