you know you found the right place when you get to a lake view with a small cottage in the middle of it and you are surrounded by a trailer park.
this place caters probably to locals, visitors and people who stay at the trailer during the summer and fall.basic food, comfort food, but a decent variety. i hope you are not expecting fine dining. burgers, fish and chips, meat loaf, wraps, soup, sandwiches, pasta, hot dog, fries, etc.
recommended by my friend so we went together on Monday night. Not busy at all. In fact there were only 4 tables and two were just drinking. Got a seat outside to get the view really nice, but the skeeters came out and started feeding on us.i order french onion soup- gross, not enough broth and cheapy and the famous puslinch burger. massive portion of a burger. my mouth could not open big enough. fries were over cooked. the burger comes with a 360 degree of cheese- melted and crispy. so if you love melted cheese this one is for you.
my friend got the fried pickles- yummy! and the puslich burger. she ate most of her burger but none of the 2 pounds of 360 degree cheese. i ate the soup and cheese and was full. yikes a lot of food. place is not for light eaters
service extremely slow to get our bill and pay. she was sweeping outside in the dark for 30 mins ????
if you want a casual environment with comfort food. here you go
- Order: puslinch burger, iced teas, french onion soup and fried pickles

Absolutely awful! We were seated, gave our order and forgotten. We waited and waited, my daughter asked our waitress about our order and was given a dirty look and asked 'What can i do about it?' In the meantime others were arriving and getting their food while we still waited. Then she came over and admitted there WAS a problem and our order was now being cooked as quickly as possible. Still we waited, more newcomers getting their food and us now being ignored by the rude waitress. We finally got up to leave, as our waitress walked passed she nonchalantly murmured "You're leaving? OK'.
No customer concern, complete disregard, will NEVER go there again. - Order: Pulled pork, burger, two kids meals.

My wife and family are 'regulars' at THE OLD MARINA and are very fond of the place. This is just a nice, simple 'cottage-style' family dining experience........nothing more........nothing less. Anyone who dines here and expects a Fine Dining experience is seriously delusional.
- Order: We've tried just about everything on the menu.
- Beautiful spot, bad food.

I have been to this restaurant about 20 times. We keep returning for the beautiful, unique location. It is situated right on the edge of Puslinch Lake and the scenery is gorgeous. In summer you can sit out on the patio and watch people water ski, etc. In winter you can watch the busy lake through the glassed in front and see snowmobilers and ice fishermen. The inside of the restaurant is very unique and interesting, with a small gift shop (with beautiful cottage decor for sale) and a train that travels on a track around the ceiling. We often bring people from out of town to this spot because it is so unique. The history of the place is also quite interesting. Yay for atmosphere! That being said, the food - is not good - bordering on terrible. I honestly want to go into the kitchen and give them a few tips because I love the restaurant and it would be SOOO easy to improve their menu items and flavours! My boyfriend will often get the Puslinch burger, which he says is good but I do not eat beef so I am stuck ordering veggie and chicken meals. I have tried virtually everything on their menu that does not have beef. The ONLY things I can recommend are the chicken fingers (how can you mess that up) and the french onion soup (although, once I had this and it was so salty it was completely inedible). Really, I mean consistently the worst food I have ever had at a restaurant, and I am not picky at all. PLEASE owners or chefs or someone - TAKE NOTICE - improve your food. Use spices - it can be done! I want to keep eating there for the view but the food is terrible! Even the apps are bad! It's not cheap either, both food and drinks are much more expensive than they should be.
- Order: pasta, chicken fingers, quesadilla, french onion soup, chicken on a bun, nachos, mushroom caps, bruchetta, onion rings
- Great atmosphere; You have to know what they are good at

A number of work colleagues and I go to The Old Marine fairly often for Friday lunch. It is a very non pretentious place located right on Puslinch Lake.
The menu is large and also non pretentious. You clearly go for the lakeside experience and not a world class dinner. That said, I have eaten there enough to provide what I believe to be their better fare.
I usually have the Schnitzel on a Bun and it has yet to let me down. The schnitzel is a nice size portion, freshly pan fried and served on a sesame bun and I usually get the side caesar (yes I do like my Caesar Salads) to go along with that.
When I feel like a treat, the Puslinch burger is absolutely memorable. The best burger I have ever had except for Five Guys in the US. Huge patty with cheese oozing all over the place and when served with fries and gravy, it usually caps my eating for the rest of the day.
I have also had their Western Sandwich and hot beef as well. Both are quite good and certainly passable.
My advice? Don't go there expecting a fine dining experience. For that, go to the Keg or Marcello's. This is a near diner like experience with great decor with a great view of the lake.
I will definitely continue to make this a Friday lunch place for me.

Food: If you can find something on the menu that looks edible then you have one up on me... Nothing original or special. The food was bland... There were three pork chops on my plate... I ate 2/3 of one and that was too much... runny coleslaw on the plate made everything else soggy... Greasy greasy greasy... have acid-reducers on hand...
Service: Slow... incompetent.... Non existent...
Restaurant: Dirty... cobwebs everywhere... lots of flies (through glad something liked the food)...
No refills on non-alcoholic beverages even though they charge $2.49 for a watered down ice tea... and it says in there menu that if you want to split a dish that they charge an additional $1.50 (apparently cause they have to provide an additional empty dish?!) I would call that service which since there was none that I could see, not surprised that they actually note it on their menu
Don't go here... stay away... nothing is good here...

I loved this place. The inside of the building is very uniquely designed, with various nick-knacks scattered about - the restaurant doubles as a gift shop. However, my focus was on the food. We waited perhaps 30 seconds at the front before a waitress came to help us. We choose to sit on the patio, overlooking the lake. It was a stunning day outside - it was the perfect place for a nice meal. We were tended too often, and the waitress was friendly and sociable. The burger I had - the Puslinch Burger was the tastiest burger I have ever eaten. Juicy, full of flavour, and covered in cheese. I added BBQ sauce for an extra bit of punch. The food came remarkably fast as well. I will come back here, despite living an hour away. Price was a non-issue.

What a fantastic little spot right on the water. Beautiful patio & dining room. Great food and that Puslinch burger... OMG! If you like a nice, big home made burger & you like cheese... lots & lots of cheese, you gonna have to try wolfing down one of these bad boys. The deep fried dill pickles are a great app. & their salads are delicious, I recommend the Caesar. Definetly worth every penny.
