  • You can't beat their seet n sour chicken. t's not the pre-fabe chicken ball in orange goo, but rather hand cut chicken in their own light batter and in a homemade sweet n sour sauce. Maybe not what other consider chinese but a treat nonetheless. Especially paired with their Soo Guy Almond in an 18 for one!

  • This is not chinese food. I have had real chinese food from Chinatown in downtown Toronto and great Canadian chinese food at chain restaurants around Cambridge and other cities. Georges Fine Chinese food came recommended from friend who has lived in Cambridge all her life. Portion sizes are incredibly tiny and barely fed my husband, myself and my four year daughter. There was chicken gravy on our chicken chow mein. The rice was not fried and the Cantonese chow mein generally contains curry...not at Georges, just more chicken gravy. Total waste of $47

  • Order: Chicken Chow Mein, Fried Rice, Soo Guy Almond and Cantonese Chow Mein.

  • I ordered takeout on may 23, and what i received was terrible. First the sweet and sour sauce tasted like they just heated up ketchup. The pork was dark, not white and had alot of grizel in it. . The egg roll batter is god awful, plum sauce does not taste the same. I also got chicken chow mien which was like a glump of over cooked goop and tasteless. I called back to complain and was told they would give me a credit on the pork.. Lastly i used to eat there all the time years ago and the food was great, expensive but good. After this last meal i will not be eating there again. Oh ya i paid close to $50.00 for the meal, so they are still expensive, BUT THE QUALITY IS CRAP.

  • Order: sweet and sour chicken and pork, egg rolls, chicken chow mein

  • Worst "chow mein" (if you'd call it that) ever. It was like a gelatin sauce with vegetables and bean sprouts, egg rolls were bland and greasy. Definitely will never order from Georges again.

  • Order: chicken chow mein spring rolls egg rolls chicken fried rice

  • Georges is very different Chinese/Canadian food. I always get steam fried rice/s&s chicken, almond soo-guy and an eggroll. Haven't really had much else they offer.
The s&s chicken are not "balls" filled with mush. They are chicken fillets litely breaded and covered in what tastes like homemade sauce (not the starchy red one at the chains). Almond soo-guy and rice are pretty standard.
It's what keeps us coming back about 4 times a year for a "special treat" (yes they are pricey).
It is a unique Chinese taste, developed over the years.

  • This used to be the best chinese food in town but the last few visits have been very disappointing. The atmosphere and service has always been great but the food quality is no longer there.

Only will go here if im craving eggrolls as they are still the tastiest ive ever had.

  • This is the worst Canadian/Chinese food Ive ever had. The rice and noodles are very sticky and taste like pure starch. I thought I would try it cause I was in the neighbourhood, but what a mistake. Do yourself a favour and find someplace else to eat.
Also I almost fell over when my order came to $32 for just 2 items and 4 spring rolls.

  • Order: cantanese chow mein and soo guy and plain rice

  • When a chinese restaurant cannot even make Chicken Fried Rice properly, you know something is wrong. Rice was mushy, not fried, lightly breaded Chicken with sweet and sour sauce, was crap - soaked in sweet and sour sauce - ever heard of on the side?? Make Chicken Balls !! Then again, don't bother. Wasted my money. Worst chinese food, I've ever had. Something wrong with the tastebuds of the people in Cambridge,if you like that crap.

  • Order: Mushroom Fried Rice, and Lightly Breaded Chicken whatever.

  • Have not been back to George's in some years due to geographical location. Now that I live in Chatham, I will definately visit my 1950's childhood restaurant. it is worth the two hour drive. If you have never had the opportunity to savour this food, you are definately missing a golden treat.

  • Food was very bland and greasy. Not the worst chinese food ever but miles from what I would call adequate.

Serving size was decent, but greasy spring rolls, bland rice and horrible bland Beef and Broccoli made it sad day.

Rice: put it this way, when you order chinese and end up cooking your own its a bad sign.

S&S Chicken, was actually pretty good... too bad the rest wasn't up to this level.

  • Order: Fried Rice, S&S Chicken, Beef and Broccoli
