Fifty's Deli & Family Restaurant

I don't buy into the hype about this place. There is always a line up on saturday.

The ribs were definately the best item any of us had. The vegetables are of the definately grocery store variety, and very overcooked. The club was a normal club sandwich (which is fine), and the lasagna was just lacking overall.

Due to the fullness of the restaurant, the service was very slow. The floors & washrooms were also very dirty It appears the place has had some renovations since my visit, so this could be fixed.

Overall this is just an average local deli/diner.

I've been here quite a few times and have been pleased with the price range and food they serve. The burgers and sandwiches are superb for the price and the quesadilla's are pretty big for an appetizer. However, stay away from their pasta especially the lasagna. Last time I ate there I ordered a oven baked lasagna and pretty much got a soupy upside down pizza with a small piece of actual pasta layering.

The service at this place is far below par. The waitresses for whatever reason don't check up on you often and there's always a long wait for the bill and then to pay for it. Hey, if you don't want to take my money I'll gladly walk out, ha.

Overall, I prefer this place over other 50's themed restaurants like Angel's and definitely Wimpy's.

After a long day we decided to order take-out and stopped at fifty's on our way back home. We didn't have to wait long for our order (less than 15 mins) and it was packaged with everything we needed. However, the gravy they sent with my husband's meal was very bland. The mustard sauce they sent with my tenders was off-tasting and very very strongly flavoured. The bbq sauce they sent was very strongly flavoured as well. I wondered why it was so hard to eat them (they were overcooked and dry, batter too chewy) and also why there was so much spice to them. After eating the rest for leftovers today (next day) I feel the sauces were too spicy but the tenders themselves were way over the top... if they serve those to kids there's a problem - they're too spicy. I just wanted something plainer for supper and ended up with heartburn from spicy chicken fingers.

My husband's hamburger steak was overcooked, charred, dry and fairly tasteless. It needed to be coated with sauce or gravy to stay edible, otherwise it was more like chewy cardboard.

I think in the future i'll stick to their salads or deli sandwiches instead of their "favourites"... definitely not one of my favourites anymore.

I go to 50's quite reguarly.. I love the food. its cheap, its good, and its really fast to get it. however normally when I do go in it is for a fast meal before running errands, and I cant help but notice the staff vibes are that they really just do not wanna be there, when they seat a table the menus are just slopped on the table and thats that. not a enjoy your meal, or anything it just does not shout out friendly... and the serving staff just sometimes not very friendly, its like you can see right through, how they just do not like their job. yet i continue to go because i like the food, the prices are great, and its fast. if the food wasnt cheap and good, i wouldnt return because of the service. i just come to expect it now.. so i dont go in looking for top quality service because i guess when your bill is only... 10 bucks for breakfast tops.. your getting what you pay for in terms of service..perhaps.

When my husband & I want souvlaki, 50's is the only place we go! The pork & chicken are always moist & tender, the Greek salad the best & the portions huge. 50's is a diner and the decor and atmosphere reflect that. The waitresses are always polite and friendly & we have never had a bad meal (breakfast, lunch or dinner) or been served by unpleasant staff.

Fifty's isn't fancy but its pretty damned good! Excellent portion sizes, although the kitchen can be a little slow when they aren't busy. The food has always been worth any wait though. I come regularly with the guys from work and we haven't been disappointed yet. Other items I've had at fifty's include the spaghetti with smoked meat (buy one, and the second order is 50 cents!) the smoked meat sandwiches (second on is just 50 cents) and the greek salad (a large one is almost too much for one person!). You never leave fifty's hungry. I'm hooked on this place!

The atomosphere is great, everyone is so friendly and makes every visit that much more enjoyable.

We found Fifty's to be well priced, friendly and very family oriented. My daughter had the children's sized chicken fingers and fries and they were delicious. I had the pattie melt which was inexpensive and yummy. Our server was attentive, friendly and accurate. We will definitely eat at Fifty's again when visiting Cambridge.

We all love to come here and the food is the best and cheap. The best waiter I like is Remona she does a veary good job!

Disappointing food, I don't know why there are line-ups for this place.
