On my bithday my daughter and her partner took me to the Elixir to celebrate. I did not know what to expect but I had heard only good things about it - great fresh food , expertly prepared by the chef famous for fusion, + nouvelle cuisine. We ordered our drinks and appetizers - shrimp coctail and perused the menu for our main courses. I chose the rib eye steak cooked medium. It was exactly the way I love it cooked. Both my daughter and her husband ordered the beef tenderloin - . medium rare and were pleasantly surprised to find their choice was grilled and tasted to perfection. The service was prompt and we were eating minutes after placing the orders. Everyone agreed that the food tasted superb and as we ate we were aware of the soft , what sounded like bohemian music in the background. It made one feel cozy, relaxed and welcomed by the Elixir Restaurant. Tea candles flickered on every table and looked pretty nice in the low lit environment. We finished our wine and steaks and went on to dessert. The tirimisu was truly delicious. And so ended our visit to the Elixir and I hope to go back as soon as possible to enjoy its culinary delights again.
- Order: shrimp coctail, rib eye steak, beef tenderloin, beer + wine, fresh, warm, low risen bread, tiramisu

My husband took me to this place for my birthday. We entered and almost immediately we were greeted. When we entered, there was only one other couple in the restaurant but they were finishing up their meal and soon we were left by ourselves. We ordered our drinks which took no time at all. The music was playing quietly and the decor was beautiful. We ordered our appetizers and our main course. My husband had the escargot which came in a very nice sauce and the portion size was great! I had the shrimp cocktail which was nothing spectacular, but you can only expect so much from a shrimp cocktail!! We had bread on our table as well, which was nice but I would have prefered it to be warmed up a little, the crust was almost too hard. About half an hour later we received our main courses. My husband had a Rib Eye steak cooked medium rare, which was cooked perfectly. I had the veal osso bucco, which was amazing. I had never had it before and I was blown away at how big the portion size was as well as the taste of the meal itself. The meat was cooked perfectly and fell apart in my mouth! We ordered the tiramisu for dessert which came in a martini glass. The presentation was very nice. The tiramisu had a very strong coffee taste to it, so I could only eat about half of it. Overall the atmosphere was amazing, the food was exceptional, and the experience itself was great. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for that little something extra in a nice quiet evening out.

Mary and I chose this place because the food is always right on. My friends are used to going to the keg so it was a gamble taking them to Elixir but when all was said and done and we got the bill they were just about gobsmacked that the quality and flavours are way above those of the Keg and yet the bill was much lower than what we would have paid there. They have all been back since and are just about head over heals with this place. If you want good quality ingredients prepared by an artist's hands that's reasonably priced, then go to Elixir.
- Order: escargot, ribeye steak, stella, shiraz, creme brulee.

I was visiting with friends in Cambridge and they took me out to dinner at their favourite restaurant Elixir. The food is simply amazing. I am quite the foody and am not easily impressed. Infact I have had so many mediochre meals that I have almost come to expect it. Elixir is a welcome change. The menu could be considered continental and by any standards is fairly priced when you consider what you are getting. The food was fresh, and expertly prepared. I had the divine escargot to start with followed by the seabass and my friends had their usual beef tenderloin, the other had the lamb as did my husband. I tried their lamb and tenderloin which were cooked just right, melted in my mouth. Elixir's tenderloin is truly the best I have ever tried. The service was polite and prompt, the atmosphere comfortable, the decor is a of blend of sleek, contemporary meets Provence. At any rate, I highly recommend this gem of a restaurant. I'll be visiting my friends more often now! Mercedes
