20 Hobson

Mmmm... we've gone here twice in the last couple of weeks because there new menu is amazing! Even when they were having a wine dinner, the sommelier still had time to come over and comment on our wine selection! They have an awesome wine list- though it takes about 20 minutes to choose! I believe Chris was our server the first time and he was very attentive and informative. The decor is dated and tacky, but the food & service make it worth going for sure. None of us were crazy about the pumpkin soup, but everything else we've tried so far we have licked our plates clean.

Perhaps we just picked a bad night but our experience was far from the glowing results I read here from everyone else. The food was fine but overpriced a bit and there was nothing surprising or au courrante -- perhaps a little 90s in its presentation on ginormous white plates and small portions (so you have to order appetizers and desserts in order to feel full). Everything was tasty - it just wasn't a memorable meal. The service was fine - again nothing over the top in terms of attentiveness. I had to flag the waiter down twice - he seemed wide eyed and yet distant... (actually I think he was stoned - he even smelled like weed)
However, the worst problem was the atmosphere -- there was some kerfuffle that could be heard from where we were sitting - it sounded like the owner yelling at his staff. It was unpleasant and will keep me from returning.

Very clean and elegant restaurant for a nice and quite dinner. Service was prompt and professional.
Food was perfection in every way. Definitely spreading a word around. Keep up the good work Hobson.

Amazing steak, melts in your mouth and amazing flavour. Seafood was great as well. Very happy with this restaurant!!!!

One of the best meals in a restaurant I've ever had! Truly amazing food and the service was top notch too which just enhanced the whole dining experience. The decor of the restaurant is very classy but not intimidating. I was very impressed with the maitre'd who, after seating us suggested he had a nicer table available by the window if we were interested. The food was fantastic. My steak was cooked perfectly as ordered and my friend was blown away by the flavourful curry sauce that enhanced and did not overpower the very tender pork tenderloin. Portions were generous which was a nice surprise too however we managed to make it all the way through dessert too because we couldn't say no! Wonderful meal in a lovely, upscale and relaxed environment.

This restaurant is the best kept secret in Galt, but not for long. Though when it first opened, the service was suspect, the managers/owners have upgraded in every capacity. Seated outside on the large, stone patio, we were taken care of by a very capable, helpful waiter. He was knowledgeable, offered suggestions, even allowed us a taste of the specials upon request prior to ordering. The food is consistent, and it's a must-stop in the summer to enjoy the patio. The ever-changing menu always features seasonal and fresh ingredients. Don't waste your time at the chain spots when this one is tucked nicely in Galt.

A truly outstanding restaurant. From the atmosphere to the food, I enjoyed everything. The decor is classy and refined, with subdued lighting and soft music. We had the spinach salad, which was outstanding. The main course was also wonderful with subtle tastes and great presentation. Kudos to the waiter, who apologized when we were seated saying that they were short handed, but we certainly never noticed. Service was prompt and skilled, water and wine glasses were always filled, a job well done!
