  • Have been here a number of times in the past few years and it seems the restaurant is becoming more crowded and noisy with each visit. We found it difficult to carry on a conversation with others in our party. Nearby tables had noisy children - it was after 7:00pm on a weeknight. The food and service were good - no complaints.

  • Food nothing special, bad service, rude staff including the manager!!!! The waitress had the guts to shush our toddlers who were NOT loud at all, just giggling with balloons, called the manager to "supervise" our table by checking on us every 2-5 minutes. We were in the restaurant for approx. two hrs and the last half hour could not keep the kids sitting at the table. They were very well behaving, not loud at all, 100% supervised by at least one adult, just wanted to stay beside our table and hold the two balloons they got from front desk. There was plenty of space to go beside the kids, but we think the dirty looks, "secret" supervision, shushing was because they could not find the space to walk beside them. A good advise to them would be PLEASE don't give kids balloons because parents generally bring table toys to keep them sitting at the table. If you do give balloons EXPECT the kids to stand and play with the balloons so just find space and walk beside them. You could also sit a party of four adults and two toddlers in a corner where you would not need to walk beside them. We left without barely eating any dessert and will never go back to this restaurant with or without kids!!!!!

  • A Party of 8 that was booked a week before hand. I requested that they give their happy Birthday chant to my wife for her birthday, she likes that sort of thing. I was waiting and waiting and nothing.
Was very Disappointed as this was a milestone birthday. Will consider having birthdays elsewhere.

  • After not having been to Tucker’s Marketplace since my childhood I was eager to go, expecting to be reminded of the many family functions I attended there in my younger years. This was not the case. We were there for a birthday party with seventeen people and had made a reservation earlier that day. Upon arriving we were asked to take a seat in their waiting room where we waited for the next 30 minutes as people that had just arrived were being seated before us. After finally being seated, the waitress was slow in coming over to take our drink orders. I thought that the food would redeem my experience but I quickly came to the realization, after my first “round”, there was no chance of that. The food was cold and tasteless and left me with a stomach-ache, even as I sat there finishing my ice cream (the only highlight of my experience). I would not recommend Tucker’s Marketplace to any family and friends and left there feeling a disdain for the restaurant that not only turned my stomach, but my fond memories as well.

  • We were staying at the holiday inn across the street. I loved this place soooooo much I just wish I had more room for the dessert. I cant wait to go back again. Not the regular buffet. It has a lot of healthy choices.

  • My husband and I went with our two children figuring a buffet would be a good choice for the kids because there would be a good selection for them to choose from.
We were seated straight away, our server was lovely and attentive, drinks were fantastic, but the food was disappointing!
I wish there were more raw vegetables to choose from at the salad bar. I prefer to make my own salad and dress it at a buffet. There were very few healthy options at any of the buffet tables. Lots of fried food, lots of sauces, lots of sodium (what is up with all of the seasoning salt on everything?), and lots of meat.
The roast beef and pork roast were good however the servers only gave one slice at a time, I suppose I could have asked for more. The yorkshire pudding was huge (perhaps a good thing to some) but overdone, and the sweet potatoes and potatoes were all hard in the middle still.
I did not have dessert but there appeared to be alot of good choices for dessert.
I will point out that there is plenty of staff and the food was constantly being replenished. A manager appeared to be present at all times.
One last point which wouldn't be mentioned if the food was more enticing, but it's so dated inside the restaurant. It makes the atmosphere seem less clean than perhaps it could have been.

  • Order: salad bar, roast beef au jus, yorkshire pudding, mashed potatoes, roasted sweet potatoes, butternut squash, mussels.

  • Haven't been here for a couple of years. Things seem to have gone downhill. Salad selection wasn't great. Lots of dressings but not much choice in actual salads. No fish on the buffet that I could see. Roast beef was paper thins slices and not much of it. Roast potatoes were hard as a brick and the Yorkshire puddings were like cannonballs.
As for dessert, the bread pudding container was empty and was not refilled promptly. Foe the rpice I doubt very much if any of my party will return to this restaurant again. It's a shame because it used to be great.

  • We generally go out for special occasions. On this occasion, it was my birthday. We had made reservations. We got to Tucker's a few minutes before our reservation (6:30 p) and had very little problem being seated at the booth we requested. So far so good. We ordered drinks, which were very good. We got to the buffet and found an adequate selection of vegetarian choices. However, from the choices we had, the noodles were too salty, the fish was jelly-like, the pizza was tasteless, the pasta salad was stale. The made-to-order Pasta station was horrible. The ingredients were not labeled. I had asked for sun-dried tomatoes and got chopped fresh tomatoes. Nice, but not what I ordered. I asked for rotini and got it mixed with fettucini. I overhead someone order minced garlic, which I didn't know about because there were no labels. And this simple pasta dish took a while to make because there was a line up. The chocolate cake and brownie was dry, but were alright because I added some of my son's icecream. I didn't have as much fresh fruit, because it didn't seem so fresh.
On the plus side, my husband had thought the slice he had from another pizza pie was good. The wild rice salad was very good. My son enjoyed the icecream bar selection and the marshmallows dipped in the chocolate fountain.
The service was great at first, but got a little annoying when I started feeling rushed. The waitress came and asked if we needed tea or coffee when we hadn't had dessert yet. The bill was put on the table a couple minutes after that, while we were having dessert . I thought that was very rude since there were at least four empty tables in our area.
Overall, I just wouldn't go back. We had a good experience two years ago. The food was better then. The service had been great.

  • Four of us went there to celebrate my birthday. The food has improved somewhat. I would prefer a little bit more vegetables in the salad bar without the mayo. They don't salt down the roast beef anymore although my wife found the roast beef a little on the cold side. The roasted potatoes were a little salty.

Our server Alison was quite friendly and fast & efficient.

I wish they would have waited for us to get our cameras out before they started singing. We told them to wait, but they wouldn't listen. 1 out of 3 cameras sort of captured everything.

    We'll still go back though.

  • We keep trying other places for a comparable buffet because Tucker's is always so crowded. Well there's a reason Tucker's is so crowded, nobody in Burlington is in their league for Sunday Brunch. Tons of fresh, tasty choices. My only beefs are expect a crowd and a very poor layout. There's one way in that's also the way out. It's about a 4 foot wide walkway and if that wasn't bad enough, they put part of the buffet in this narrow walkway. Amazing lack of planning there guys!!! Even with that one annoyance it really is a great brunch.
