  • We have eaten here several times as a couple, waitresses were friendly and food good and reasonably priced, I decieded to go there with my 8 children for a birthday party (mine!) i called ahead hostess hinted she wanted me to take out food (we were al lfrom out of town) when we arrived hostess and manager / owner were UNHAPPY to put to square tables together to make a nice rectangle I asked twice HOSTESS REFUSED and then manager / owner. His comlait were we are a small restaurant. !! There was Nobody in the restaurant on a sat at 1pm and there are maybe 40 seats, but he would not put two square tables together and said he could put a square to a round as those two were closer, REALLY, THEY DON'T WANT BUSINESS if serving a larger party is in incovenience, what a downer for a family gathering and party, If you are shopping and want a quick okay meal eat here, if you want atmoshphere and fun and welcoming staff /owner, DON'T go to Mandarin like we did and with a ten minute warning they set up a lovely reactangular table ofr us and we had a lovely party birthday atmosphere and the food selection and quality was 'wonderful'.
too bad I thought a restaurant was there to serve food and pleasse it's customers - whole new concept to me thaqt we were an inconvenience because there were 9-10 of us and we wanted to eat in - where the restaurant had NO one! Good luck when you go here!

  • Order: nothing we left! other times cheese ragoon and mu shu dishes excellent some waitresses friendly

  • We've been coming to this restaurant ever since it opened and we love it! However, since new management took over its gone on a downhill spiral. The food is...Alright to say the least. The 3 soup choices are delicious. The wontons in the wonton soup often have the texture of plastic and are hard, but they are delicious. The egg drop soup is to die for aswell. The mushu pork is the highlight of the meal often! The tortillas are also often hard, but the mix of meat and veggies is delicious. I would also reccommend trying the mongolian beef. 1 word - delicious! The tea at the restaurant is, to be honest, terrible. They used to give the option of green tea OR Jasmine green tea, but have since eliminated standard green tea from the restaurant and limited tea to only jasmine. The tea is very strong and very bitter and honestly tastes like im eating flower petals - don't be mislead, its not a good taste. For some bizarre reason, everytime we visit, different new staff members who we've never seen before are present, but are never there the next visit we make. Almost like they only work one night forever. Even so, the staff members that are present are usually less than enthusiastic to be there and always seem depressed. Except for a unique employee who is always exuberant - he always tells us to "take time" but makes us feel like thats not what were supposed to do! Hes a funny guy but he neeeds to relax a bit! Overall, don;t be mislead by the service or the staff, the food is usually pretty good and its a good place to go for a nice meal.

  • Order: Wonton Soup, Mushu Pork, Mongolian Beef

  • the menu choices seemed promising and the service was friendly and courteous however the food was absolutely terrible. i would never order from here again.
the chicken ball batter were doughy and not cooked but the chicken inside was stringy and chewy. not sure how you do that. the honey chicken was so greasy and also stringy and chewy and unedible. the sauce wasnt honey at all but more like a spicy oil. the wanton soup was bland and also unedible.
the only decent thing were the noodles and fortune cookie which was all i was able to eat.
the food was also quite pricey. very disappointing :(
i had high hopes because of the good reviews posted here. im not sure what food those people were eating but i did not have the experience they did.

  • Order: sweet and sour chicken balls, honey chicken, vegetable noodles, wanton soup and chicken fried rice

  • Le Chinois is awesome; the best cantonese food I've ever had. I've come here a couple of times before and the food is always served hot, quickly and crispy. The service is great. The waiters are all nice and polite and friendly. They also don't mind answering any questions you have about the food. Even the manager comes out some times just to talk to the clients and to find out how their meal is and how they are enjoying the restaurant.
I was so shocked when the bill came. I thought that since we ordered a lot more food then usual that the prices would be really high, but even with everything extra the bill was only $88. Not to mention the portions sizes are huge with lots to take home.
I will definetly will keep coming back here for dinner.

  • Order: Cheese rangons(4) chinois shrimp, genral tso chicken, chicken rice, vegetable rice, pan fried thin noodles, and battered shrimp; everyone had water

  • I am not big on this type of food, but the rest wanted it so I reluctantly went along. I am also not one to ever do a review or read them, everyone has there own oppinion and always two sides to a story. Le Chinois Take out restaurant on Mall Rd in Hamilton has changed my mind about this type of food. Can't wait to go back there. It was all amazing. The staff was great and very helpful. My son loved it too, which is a big thing believe me. Thanks for a great meal. Everyone loved it.

  • The Food was excellent, and the service and price were more than exceptable, but when my wife pointed out the cockroach walking on the floor; I couldn't finish my meal. A restaurant with these filthy criters walking around looses my bussiness.

  • Order: Chicken and Curry.

  • I love Le Chinois. My family has been eating at the Hamilton location for over 10 years. HOWEVER, when they moved to Burlington the quality seemed to decrease. The rice, spring rolls and cheese rangoon were amazing, but the lemon chicken was not good at all. In Hamilton they had thin strips of LIGHTLY battered chicken. When we went to the Burlington location, they took chicken balls and put lemon sauce on them. Very disappointing and we did not eat any of them. The server was not really wanting to deal with the issue, nor was the manager. Please go to the one in Hamilton to experience the BEST chinese food ever.

  • Order: Veggie Rice, Cheese Rangoon, Lemon Chicken, Spring rolls, Soup

  • I've never been to this restaurant but have heard of it. The food was quick and hot with lots of left overs I would definitely go back again or try the Hamilton location. The server was polite and friendly he just took out order and that was it our water was always filled throughout the meal.

  • Order: We ordered ragoons for appetizers, orange chicken, beef steak w/peppers, veggies w/almonds, spicy shrimp, house special w/thick noodles, and chicken balls with just water to drink.
