Bud's On The Bay

Well first off, to start, I overbooked them by over 10 people for my wedding dinner which John, the owner willingly and promptly accommodated everyone without hesitation or issue. I was very relieved and impressed at how much this restaurant went above and beyond to make sure that our wedding dinner was special, perfect and memorable. They had a beautiful cake for us (for everyone plus extra) included at no $. They sat us all, took our coats, gave us the beautiful dining area with the fireplace and even went out of their way to call my step mother to coordinate balloons to go with our clothing. Simple little things to start that "I for one" noticed and so did many others. This is just to start. The food was excellent, and very quick to be served, considering our size on a Saturday night. They had constant servers, replacing food and drink, no one was missed, no one fussed or complained (and my guests were all older, refined, prim and proper church people :) ) So, for them to be happy, and extremely satisfied. I give the restaurant a million thumbs up. My husband is a cook by trade and will not hesitate to say if something is wrong, inadequate and all he had to say is "I don't prefer any other restaurant to dine at Buds" they know how to make you feel special and not just "someone to make $ from" they cared, and again, I would not change anything that they did, other than advocate their restaurant. If you want a beautiful, memorable reception dinner for a party of 40, go there and you will not be dissapointed. Great service, great food, smiles, courtesy and love were all there. I should again mention we had 40 + people there!

In town for business, asked some folks where to go for a nice meal, good atmosphere, and we were told this was the spot.
They were right. What a wonderful place to have a meal! The servers were amazing, the bar staff were friendly & accomodating and the food was great. The owner ( John was his name) came out to say hello, welcomed us to his restaurant and made sure we were satisfied with our meal. Everything was delicious and large enough portions.
My partner had a steak and he claims it was one of the best he has ever had and was exactly the way he ordered it. This is a hard thing to find in a restaurant today. I myself had a pasta dish with scallops and it was to die for. I hope that the locals value this place for what they have. Coming from a large city like Vancouver, it is very hard to find a great place to eat that incorporates family with fun and a relaxed atmosphere. All you ever find anymore are chain restaurants which will never have as great food as this place.
This was an amazing find! If ever we are back this way.... this will be the place to eat!

I have had many wonderful experiences at this restaurant and any time I can afford breakfast, I come here. I am particularily a fan of the Breakfast Club. Kelly is by far, the best server I have ever had anywhere, and the manager even came out to talk with customers. A class act all around.

Busy spot for breakfast. Very friendly and prompt service. Young lady was very couteous. The pancakes were served with real maple syrup. What a pleasant surprise! Maybe its .50 cents more than other restaurants for the Breakfast special but the quality and service is worth it.

Also, some of the best service I have ever recieved anywhere. My husband loved the steak sandwich. He gave it a 10!! Nachoes could have used a liitle more cheese, but then again I like Lots of cheese. Great selection of draught beers too!

The service was great. All of the staff were very friendly. The view is second to none. A perfect spot.

The waitress did not know how to smile, and the service was slow from the moment we stepped in the door. Not impressed at all. I had expected so much more. Very disapointing!
