We went there in February of 2013, after many visits for their breakfast.. This time we were not impressed at all.
It has definitely gone downhill, and they certainly cannot handle the breakfast crowds anymore. The service was slow, the line ups to pay by debit were horrible, they really need to update or provide more debit machines for customers..truly not impressed. It took almost as long to pay as it did to order..slooooowwww....
The meal itself was ok, but definitely not as good as it once was, and not worth the money in my opinion.
The toast, I believe rye, was very small pieces, we had a laugh over that! The bacon used to be so much better and tastier, and the pancakes were tasteless.
The "home fries" are definitely not home made and were deep fried pieces of chunky frozen potatoes. Gross! I expect house peeled, and sliced potatoes for home fries, not something that is ordered in frozen and thrown in deep fryer.
Definitely as homey as it once was, will not return and will recommend to anyone.

I have been to Angels many times. However, this time, I wasn't too keen on the food or the service. When we first arrived, we were hardly greeted. We were given a seat and the waitress came over with a lousy expression on her face. We then ordered the Montreal smoked sandwich because if you bought one, you got another one for 5 cents. We then mentioned that we wanted french fries with our order. The waitress informed us that with the sandwich deal, you only got the sandwich, without the french fries. Okay, fair enough. We then ordered a side of french fries. When our sandwiches came, they were small, and the bread was not toasted (which the waitress neglected to tell us). The meat wasn't good, tasted overdone, and the side of french fries, which was in a small dish, cost $4.00! Definitely not worth it. I wasn't happy with the food or the service, and certainly won't be going back.

Angel's is good for breakfast (evidenced by the hordes of people lining up on Saturday mornings).
However;
I took my mom and brother out for dinner there because I wanted to try the ribs they are always boasting about.
One of the specials was chicken tenders and ribs, however, I ordered (while pointing it out on the menu) the Chicken and Ribs (which is chicken breast and half-rack of ribs).
When my food came out, my starter salad was partly browned lettuce. The chicken was chicken strips and not a chicken breast, and the breading was semi-soggy. It did not bind with the chicken and the chicken was very greasy. The ribs were overdone, and none of the three meals ordered were hot.
My brother ordered some sort of sandwich with meatballs, and the beef smelled, and tasted, like it was nearing expiration.
The third meal ordered was a rueben wrap (or something similar).
The food was bad enough that none of us ate even half of our meal. I would have said something to the waiter but I was not aware the other two meals at my table were poor, and I am generally not one to complain. The waiter returned only once during our meal, and took several minutes (10+) to return with our single bill.
We were in around 6pm and the restaurant was probably a half to two-thirds full.
I will never return to this restaurant because the food and service were both very disappointing. I did not discuss with the owner (who was present in the restaurant) or waiter while I was there because I did not want to make a scene in front of other patrons - and I would not accept an offer of free meals that evening, nor would I wish to return in the future.

I see a lot of reviews here discussing poor service. I"m not sure if it is because we always hit Angel's at times when we know it won't be busy, but we've never had to experience that problem. We've always gotten our food quickly, and we're always given good service.
We keep the kids busy searching the license plates for letters while we wait!

We are repeat customers of Angel's. The food is regular good diner food. The service is pretty good, no complaints over all. I have had to send my chicken stir fry back because it was pink in the centre.....but it was taken care of promptly. Nothing special, but a good inexpensive lunch.

When me and my wife went to visit angels last sunday with some friends we noticed to young boys working in the back. They were working really hard and i wanted to thank them for the most exceptionally clean dishes i have ever seen at any restaurant. There names were Dan and Gordie and they were very polite. I was glad to have met these young boys because you barley see kids there age working as hard as they did. Good job boys

We used to go there regularly for breakfast on week-ends but lately, the service is not as good and the food just average. It is a very loud atmosphere and at time, you wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen. We will see on our next visit how it turns out. It would be too bad because they have a good thing going on for them if they keep the quality and proper service.
- Order: breakfast

First off i would like to ask the owners where they hire their staff from? The waitress we had was one of the rudest people I have ever met. When she finally came to take our order, she just treated us like a bunch of kids, not worthy of her time. While we were waiting for our meal.. i belive the owner started yelling at the hostess...she was in the back but she was very loud, we all felt very bad for the hostess. WHen the food FINALLY came my pancakes tasted like they had been made the night before , they were cold and hard. I will never go back to angels diner again.

The breakfast can be very good most times. When it's bad it's bad. The service is generally poor, the servers can make it or break it....
It seems as if your not a regular you get sub -par service. - Order: Triple play, kids breakfast
