Husky House Restaurant

lived in the area for 20+years, first time in the Husky.
Nice and quiet, looks like a truck stop from the 70's.
Clean and simple, no irritating music or posters all over the place.
Service was quick and polite....however the server neglected the coffee cream (had to steal from another table)The coffee itself was great...not burnt tasting like some other places.
Food was good and hot and generous portions.
You could tell the burger wasn't homemade, but the patties they use are really good quality.
This is one of the only truck stops between Toronto and Bracebridge I think, and there is always someone there.
Will I go back?.....definately!!

The service was very fast, i couldn't beleive how quickly my food arrived. The O.J. was pretty expensive though at about $3.00 for what was a large but in a kind of small glass. But the food made up for it, the omelette was exceptional and it came with a huge side of homefries, as if the omelette wasn't enough already! Lots of cheese and lots of mushrooms, would gladly do it again.

I love this road house eatery. It is one of the few old school places left outside of Toronto. The food is perfect and the staff are both efficient and charming. I would love for them to make an online menu so my friends and I could prep our tastes buds on the way up. :)

Nothing better

It was after midnight and like all guys at this time we were hungry, and the husky didnt dissapoint. With two huge slabs of meat, cheese, a fried egg and that other stuff a humberger needs, the king of the road hit the spot. Wahsed down with a cold glass of coca cola we were in trucker heaven. Thanks Husky house restaurant you've done it again.

The huskey is a little place just off the 400 highway outside of Bradford Ontario. Lets be perfectly honest, it is a trucker stop. Thus it is full of the highest of caliber people. And the servers, wow theres nothing like seeing death carry your food to you. The atmosphere is excellenct. With a hint of urine and a study stench coming from the ktichen you know you've arrived. The cutlery is rarley clean so you just try to avoid thinking about who used the fork last because chances was it was Big Trucker Bill eating the pasta on his way to who knows where. The tables are rarley clean yet you dont eat off the tables do you? You eat off a plate so I dont know why everyone is complaining. And the trucker conversation, well lets just say its colour full language that outshies Michael Richards (Kramer) when he gets heckled from the audiance.

The food is awsome i have ate the King of the Road a number of times, Big Chef salad that is incredible, apple crisp, pasta, poutine, etc. The Huskey is a insitution and anyone who wants to experince what real food is all about should take a chance, You wont be disapointed.

i was appaled by the service, that my wife and i recieved. from the moment we sat down, our server was right there ( not a bad thing ) however she hadded us the menu, asked if we wanted coffee. i said yes. within 10 sec i had my coffee,and was being asked if i am ready to order. i hadn't even open my menu yet. i looked at the menu while she stood over me waiting.i ordered, finished my coffee by then my food showed up. the food was ok. my wife finished he food first by then, the server was right there asking " you done yet " with her hand on our plates. i wasn't no where near done. i wasnt even offered a refill on my coffee. before my bill even showed up.
