Michael & Marions

We visited here for Barrielicious and were very pleased. The menu was different then most of the participating restaurants and there was a lot of selection (3 choices per course) and not just a boring salad for app) I had a salad with tons of flavourful ingredients and my friend ordered the beef carrpaccio. She was pleasently surprised for a first timer. The salmon was slightly overdone and the pasta was good. Service was amazing and helpful, didn't make you feel stupid when you asked simple questions. Atmosphere was nice, very cozy and warm for a very old building. Dessert was also amazing as well as the wine! We will return in the future.

I went here for lunch with my girlfriend. The service was friendly, the place was well decorated, and the food was good. The bree cheese was a little cold but good nonetheless. The pasta was very good and incredibally filling. I plan to try this place for dinner next time.

Anyone who complains about any restarant during Barrielicious needs to realise that the dining experience is usually not a true reflection of the quality of food and service you get there. Michael and Marion's is consistantly great, i especially enjoy the specials, as is showcases some of the talents of the kitchen. Wine selection is also great. It is really worth going for an intimate evening.

This little gem has been around for ever and I have never been disappointed. We went later one evening during Barrielisious and did not order from the BL menu. They were offering a full a'la carte menu in addition to the feature menu. The $20.08 three course menu looked really good but we wanted somtheing different.
Our dinner was excellent, the server Mike was really a lot of fun and the place looked and felt great. We dident feel rushed at all and the entire experience was top notch. I will be back. Thank you Michael & Marions for another exceptional evening!

My husband and I had our wedding reception at Michael and Marions. The food, atmosphere, and service completely exceeded our expectations. All of our 45 guests were blown away! Kent was very accomodating through out the planning process to help bring the vision for our wedding come to life. We will definitly be back for many more meals and memories.

My husband and I went for Barrielicious, we showed up at 6:50pm. The server came to get our drink order, but we had to ask to see a wine menu and regular menu. It took until 7:50pm to be served our Entree. I found the food was no different than that which I could have made a home which was really disappointing, but we actually left a three course meal still hungry.

We came late in hopes of missing the rush, for my husbands birthday. They forgot it was his birthday, and the service was incredibly slow. The soup was like a coleslaw - very weird and heavy. We waited 20 minutes for our 1st drinks and didn't eat until 9:45. Our guests were not impressed. The renovations inside were nice looking but very uncomfortable chairs . We waited 4 years to go back and it will be at least 4 more before we spend that kind of money there again .

The calamari was really tough and chewy. Frites were on the burnt side, i asked them to take them back. The frites were presented to me again, they just hand picked through them. I was really disappointed. The scallops were salty and to over cooked. The drinks were ok, she didn't even give me a chance to sit down and relax before she started to rush me.

Wow!!! Not only is the decor really current and the staff super attentative but the presentation and the selection were second to none! Special requests no problem! The staff in a word excellent! Mike & Mel (guess he got tired of Marion) did a great job! James the bar server is cute and corky. Chef Dennis & Chef Christina are an awesome team. You should really give this gem in down town a shot. Make a reservation or you may not get in, its small but really worth it!

We were very pleased with the whole experience. Great efficient service and extremly tasty food. The fresh bread and hummus was a nice touch. My friends and I have returned for dinner and were equally satisfied. Cheers!
