My husband and I thought we would try this restaurant to celebrate our 3 year wedding anniversary. We were greeted and seated in a timely fashion, however we waited 10 minutes at the table with no water or drink order to be taken. The server did not introduce her self or appologize for the wait. Recieved our drinks about 7 minutes after ordering. The gift from the chef was a prawn stuffed mushroom that was excellent in flavor and temperature. Apps were ok, Tuna was undercooked for my liking. The main course was ok as well, although chicken was moist there was not a lot of flavor and hardly any brie cheese. The martini and red house wine were excellent along with our dessert of 3 flavoured creme brulee and one of the best cappucinos in Barrie. Unfortunatley the service lacked for a fine dining experience and also would not have expected a carpet in the dining room, especially a commercial low grade plain one. It might be a long while before we attempt this restaurant again.
- Order: Cookstown Salad, Tuna with spinach filled phyllo pastry, Brie Stuffed Chicken Breast with homemade gnocci, Chi Martini, house red wine, cappucino, creme brulee

We were warmly greeted by the hostess/waitress. We asked for a table change and were accommodated without fuss.
Menus were presented and we were afforded adequate time to make our meal choices before we were approached. Each of the plates were beautifully presented. The salads were fresh and given a lot of height which increased their presentation value. Note: the creamy dressing on the Romain Salad was a bit gritty. The main courses were all very well presented, the lamb fell off the bone and was very tender although the beautiful flavour of spring lamb had been lost. The filet of beef was tender and done perfectly to order. The lobster tails were a bit small and somewhat tough although not overly so. The addition of the small patti-pan was a wonderful touch. The Pickerel was perfectly prepared and delicious. The desserts were all of very good quality. In particular the Creme Brule was a hit with everyone. We selected a Sonoma Valley Pinot Noir 2006. It was still quite young but very drinkable and reasonably priced at $48.00
We were presented with two additional treats from the chef. A rabbit appetizer and a liquor with dessert. Both were greatly appreciated and added a nice touch to the meal.
We will be back and will tell others of our excellent experience.

Best food we've had in Barrie. Attention to detail very apparent in each course. Interesting wine choices; the Argentinian Malbec was superb. The servers were a great team; professional, attentive, organized, friendly and unobtrusive. The actual space is somewhat uninteresting but did not take away from the quality of the experience. We enjoy finding interesting quality restaurants and feel happy to have found one in Barrie.

My husband and I first went to Garraway's just after our wedding, with all of our family for a celebration. We now return every year on our anniversary for a wonderful meal and enjoy every minute. Not only are the staff attentive and knowledgeable, the food is sensational and always satisfying. We enjoy trying the new dishes and testing our palates and love the amuse-bouche that you are served pre-dinner. We have always been spoiled on this nights as my husband has pre-ordered a special dessert for us (or rather me!!! The choco-holic!) and the kitchen staff have always blown us away with the skill to which they can create a perfect dessert for 2. Garraway's offers the highest class of service in Barrie and I know my husband and I will return there many times in the future. It is our special way of celebrating our marriage and only Garrway's is able to make us feel even more special on that day!! Thank you for many wonderful evenings of good food, fantastic service and great memories!
- Order: Tried many different dishes from main courses and appetizers to specialised dessert platters.
