Crock & Block

We went to have the Sunday brunch for a family members birthday, have had the regular evening meals in the past and were satisfied with food and service, However the Sunday brunch we had on Nov 29/09 was without doubt the worst we have ever had anywhere, of the six of us 3 had the fried chicken which tasted a bit tainted, all are now sick. Will never go back again

Dark, dirty, dreary, disgusting, and dated. Need I say no more? Mother-in-law had a open faced beef sandwich with gravy. She finds pieces of steel scouring pad in her gravy. Complaint is made to the server and server says that they do not have any more of the choice she ordered to replace the scouring pad infested one and does not offer a equal or better choice to my mother-in-law. They do not even offer to cover the cost of the meal.
After managing many restaurants in my past I know that the scouring pad probably came from the steam kettle or china cap when these items are being cleaned. I banned the use of these pads in Facilities I managed due to the likelihood of peaces ending up in the food. It’s seems that the Crock is needs to get their act together and lift their standards in hygiene. Maybe stop being so cheap and spend some money on renovating.

We've all been many times and keep going back for the service, the food and the great prices! My bestfriend's 34th birthday party was no different. We all had a great time, great apps and great meals. Not a complaint at the table, the complete opposite! We were all raving about the meal for days to come! The great thing about the "Crock"...it never changes. The food is consistantly fantastic and the service is friendly and outgoing. Two thumbs up to the team at the Crock, we'll all be back soon!!!

Upon our arrival we were greeted by the rudest, most miserable young woman. We were seated in an area where there was a birthday party of about 30 people. And you could hear everyone of those 30 or so person laughing and having a great time. Not that we begrudge anyone of a good time, but we were not part of that party and came to have a nice quiet meal. When I asked if we could be moved to another room that wasn't as noisey. I was told "it's only a Birthday Party". Which is wonderful if you are not looking to have a quiet meal. I apologized for inconveniencing her and her response was to ignore me. The greeter reluctantly moved us from that room and her demeanor was awful. Had we not had the most amazing waitress we would have left. She was attentive and the most polite young woman. Thanks Anastasia for saving our night. SHAME ON CROCK AND BLOCK FOR PUTTING SUCH A PERSON AS A GREETER. THIS IS THE FIRST PERSON YOU SEE AND MAY COST YOU ALOT OF BUSINESS.

We had a massive cesar Sald and had wished we had not ordered more food as the salad was massive and great. I had stir fry and it was very good. Service was great and family warm atmosphere.

My husband and I went to Crock and Block in Barrie for our Anniversary diner. We asked when we got there if there was lots of crab and we were assured there were plenty and they will be serving them until 10:30pm. We received 4 servings of 4 little legs each and then they told us they ran out of them. The manager was very rude. We were not able to get anything else and we had to pay the full price of both diners without even a remote discount or alternative. Unbelievably rude and uncalled for service!!

Excellent. Steak was mouth watering, good portions.

This is by far the worst restaurant I've ever been to in my life. The food was absolutely disgusting. Our appetizers were not edible and we just had the server take them away. The meals were not much better. My husband is a quantity over quality type of guy, but even he couldn't eat this food, and that's saying a lot. We all were sick afterwards. Go anywhere BUT here. In all fairness our server was pleasant and attentive, but that doesn't make up for the poor quality food.
