Well you didn't listen and now you're done....next time, ( if there is one), maybe take advice from the people , ( person), trying to help you instead of accusing them,( him), of sabotaging you. Good luck...see ya.

The service was good and atmosphere was nice. Nothing exceptional, but nothing to complain about.
The food was average. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone asking.
The menu itself was limited. There were a few extra items written on the board behind us (which would've been nice to know when ordering, not when we were leaving).
The restaurant experience as a whole was very ho-hum.

Wilson's on Wilson is the uncovered GEM of Ancaster and I secretly hesitate to share it with everyone ... but how can I not?! Wilson's on Wilson is the best spot for your stomach and wallet. The deals are not to be missed & the space has a great feel! We were there last night and had a perfectly poured pint of Guinness for $5.75 (tax in). Impossible to beat. If Guinness isn't your fave, they have a different brand each day on special - $3.95 for a pint!! I'll be zipping back tomorrow to dig into the 2-4-1 wings (every Wednesday). Sweet potato fries are light and slim - just perfect. Lamb stew was just like my Mom made it. We'll be there today on their patio to toast St. Paddy's Day. See you there. Spread the word.

Our family of 6 enjoyed a lovely meal unlike anything you would get in a chain restaurant. The homemade burgers were amazing! The crab cakes are stellar! I love supporting a local establishment - give it a try. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food.

In reading over some of the previous reviews (and really folks, if you're going to take a kick at a new restaurant in these grinding times, at least have the decency to handle the typos), I wonder if we’re been at the same place. We’ve recently moved not far from Ancaster and have found Wilson’s to be a haven for those that don’t want a roadhouse or wallpaper on the walls. It’s mature, adult and kid friendly – no easy accomplishment considering all the varying tastes demanded. Maybe in the early days they had been working through some kinks but we had a lovely waitress (a local) and the menu was just what the growling stomach’s ordered. Dennis (the ever present owner) welcomed us and as it turns out with Dennis, he knows everyone, even those just recently relocated. Wines by the glass are a unique blend of affordable and tasty and the micro brew offering is unparalleled in this end of the world. Give it a shot and be reminded, without the local entrepreneurs supporting out tax base and employing our kids, we’re all in trouble.

Thank goodness for Wilson's on Saturday night during the storm. The fireplaces were welcomed. I had the sheppards pie,mmm and hubby had the special - chili with garlic bread (our waiter brought him more bread...he was so happy) and it was the perfect antidote along with a great glass of Portuguese red to cure the snow that was blowing by. Looking forward to our next visit, storm or otherwise!

After reading positive reviews we visited Wilson's for the first time. Although we found the menu quite limited, we all decided we would like to try the onion soup, and each found a meal item we found appealing. My son was hoping for the Shepherd's Pie but was immediately informed they had run out (this was at 6:30 on a Saturday night during a snow storm - not too many people out). He settled for the spaghetti (looked like the sauce was canned).
My older son and I ordered the Osso Buco which we had read was supposed to be awesome - it was not. I have had much better in the past, including at the old Sfoozi's before it went downhill then out of business. I am not sure whether it was rice or potatoes that was served with the OB but it had no flavour, a strange texture, and the entire meal was lukewarm.
My wife ordered the steak frite. Unfortunately this was also a disappointment. The small steak was accompanied by sweet potato fries and nothing else (no vegetables).
The only positive thing was the cost - meal and wine totaled about $125.00 for four.
Hope the restaurant turns around, or it won't last long.

What happened here? We first tried Wilson's a few months ago and it was very good. The food was fresh and made with care...though the service was brutal...we went back a couple more times and each time..the menu had changed..more and more seemed to be coming off. ...but what there was..was still good. This week we went in again...what a disappointment....no fish or seafood...( on a Friday fish should be featured for sure....not the "burger" special that was featured ??? )...the pasta's are almost non existent...we used to love the seafood linguine, it's been gone for a while now so we would have the chicken fettucine instead..very good pasta....but now also gone apparently. The service is still brutal...after this length of time you would think some sort of training would have occured. The menu is a couple of pieces of paper..stapled together...mine actually had a stain of some sort on it...and I could get better meal choices at the local drive-thru. The place has taken on a roadhouse feel....every inch of wall space has been plastered with tacky artwork showcasing various alcohol beverages. I finally asked our server what happened with the menu...we were informed that the Chef was no longer with Wilson's...creative differences was the reason....sad to see him go. We spoke with him once a while back...very nice fellow..focused on quality and took pride in his fare...but this place has changed and no longer needs someone of his stature in the kitchen....I don't blame him and wish him all the best....hopefully he will re-surface in Ancaster somewhere. What we saw on this visit was the lack of exciting food and the attention to detail is gone out the window. If you want wings, beer and bar food..then maybe..but you can get that anywhere...Wilson's isn't doing anything special that would draw people in for bar food. Ancaster needs something new and different...Wison's isn't it...guess we'll just have to wait for someone with the right idea to come along. P.S. does anyone know who owns this place? There never seems to be any managment around...as a new place in a small tight knit community business owners should be out there meeting and greeting...it's good policy.

Our first lunch there has kept us coming back every week. The curried mussel soup was one of the daily specials and was fantastic. The reuben sandwich was the most delicious I've ever had. The fries are excellent. The steak sandwich was juicy and tasty. The atmosphere was warm and cozy and the staff were friendly and attentive.

Wow! What a great place. Definitely needed something like this in Ancaster...great food, great atmosphere, great wines, and at a low cost!!! We like the place so much we've become somewhat regulars there. The soups of the day are fabulous (unlike some places which admit to using canned soup). And the chefs wing sauce is awesome! My daughter really enjoys the crab cakes, delicious! And I love that they have osso bucco on the menu, its fabulous as well. I think we need to support places like this that offer a great menu and quality food, its just opened up and I'd hate to see it go. It also bothers me that local restaurant business bash rather than support newcomers...I think its fair to say that the places like the Rousseau House aren't going anywhere, so lets give Wilson's a chance!
Oh and the desserts are AMAZING. yummm :) - Order: ...practically everything by now - its all good!
