  • Its always nice to find a place that the overall experience makes you think you spent your money well and got what you paid for. This place has the best biscuits I have ever eaten we asked for more and the waitress never batted an eye and said absolutely.

My wife is a fussy eater and she loved everything, my Son's 20th Birthday is later this month and we will be returning to the Globe to celebrate it. I highly recommend you give it a try I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

  • Order: potatoe chedder soup, pork loin and 10oz new york

  • I have visited this restaurant a number of times for lunch and have never been disappointed. Today was no exception.

Delicious cream of asparagus soup followed by crab cakes, and mixed green salad and creamy (but not too mayonnaise-y) potato salad.

My friend took advantage of the soup-salad-sandwich special and enjoyed an incredible roast beef on whole wheat, the same soup and salad as myself, and a side order of frites with mayo.

We were too full for dessert but the ladies at the next table appeared to be thoroughly enjoying strawberry shortcake with freshly picked Ontario strawberries.

Service was friendly and attentive. Atmosphere cozy and comfortable.

  • Order: cream of asparagus soup, mixed green salad, crab cakes, roast beef sandwich, frites, potato salad, iced tea

  • I was introduced to The Globe a number of years ago by a dear friend. It is not handy to where I live but is well worth the drive...and I make that drive a number of times per year.

I always start with the soup. Every soup on the menu is divine. There is no way to pick a favourite. I'd love to take it home by the bucket!

I'm usually there for lunch and have dined on sandwich specials that look as amazing as they taste. Fresh, local ingredients. Wonderful breads. Flavourful chutneys.

In the summer, I've also enjoyed cold salmon and trout salad platters that are stunning.

The service is always warm and inviting. The staff are attentive but not intrusive. The atmosphere is always friendly and cozy, no matter the season.

If you haven't been to The Globe, GO!

  • Daily Specials written on chalk board are vague, so you have to wait for staff to read you the details of each special. I ran out of water...attentiveness is spotty.
Plating is original and/or inconsistent. One plate can look extravagant, another one looks like fancy cafeteria. Food taste and pricing is good for the atmosphere.
Reservations highly recommended or be ready for some mild attitude.

  • Order: chicken pasta, flatbread, beef sandwich, soup & salad

  • Yet again, we're impressed. Delicious food, great service (our server usually works in the kitchen; and did a fantastic job). For the first time in my life I had to pack some home. The prime rib was delicious, and mammoth! See you again, as soon as we can find a reason...

  • Order: calamari, cheesy potato soup, prime rib, pork loin w/apple

  • Beyond the charm, great service and delectable food, The Globe is a standout when it comes to consistency on all three. That they never 'fail to fill' as a top end restaurant makes this our "go to" place for special occasions. It really is that good.

  • Order: salmon, sweet potato soup, bacon wrapped filet, plum pudding w/ hard sauce.

  • Excellent choice of restaurants for our special anniversary dinner! The waiter acted as if our food allergies were the most normal thing in the world, going out of his way to reassure us that each thing served was safe for our special needs. Beautifully prepared and displayed meals with perhaps larger servings than needed unless you are very hungry. We will absolutely go back, especially in winter, to sit by that grand fireplace with a fire going in it.

  • Order: pork and apple pie, pasta special

  • I had heard amazing things... sadden to say I wasn't at all impressed. All I can really say.. was that the presentation was a piece of art. The plating was so creative,
Overall I found the decor like someones country kitchen, the wine list was very limited, the dinner was good, but I was expecting so much more... I was dissappointed, to say the least.

  • I stopped in at the Globe on my way home from Alliston where I had been judging a horseshow. I was too early for dinner so I had "Tea". It was great! The best asparagus soup I have ever tasted, and the greens were very fresh and tasty. I had the fresh made raspberry pie for desert and it was excellent.
I just loved the atmosphere with all of the antiques.
I will definitely be back when I am in the area again.

  • Order: cream of asparagus soup, greens, raspberry pie

  • We've been dining at the globe for more than a decade. For us its a sure bet; the food is always tasty, plentiful and very affordable. Its not Signatures at Le Cordon Blue or Eigensinn Farm, but it is casual country dining. We like that the menu doesn't change much, its like Sunday dinner with the folks. If that's what your'e in the market for, than you can't beat The Globe.

  • Order: I think we've had everyting on their menu between the two of us, the favorites are prime rib and fillet of beef
