Museum food is all but universally crap, yet MOMA's attached restaurant is worth a visit. The food is wildly over-priced (I estimated my meal at about $3.50 per teensy-weensy bite) but perfectly prepared and imaginative without being desperate about it. Each menu item consists of a tiny sample of food rather than a whole meal, and you're supposed to order several of them. Service is rather slow and the room itself is nothing to write home about, but the place always seems to be packed. Be sure to make a reservation, because the wait can be hours, otherwise.
- Order: Duck medallions with truffle oil and pistachio dipping sauce, gnocci, several desserts
