Fig & Olive - Fifth Avenue

Brought a friend to my "find" and we both had an outstanding meal, with great service.
This new restaurant opened last spring, and, based on my last visit, all the kinks have been worked out. I come into the city on business and often eat alone, and love how comfortable I feel here. No "bad stuff" on the menu either - the food is healthy - but it's not "health food." Reasonably priced, too - especially considering the location - right around the corner from Cartier's, between 5th and Madison. I've used their takeout service when I'm running late for the train. We sat downstairs, and the only reason I didn't give Atmosphere 5 stars is because the tables on the first floor are very close together. So, my one caveat is: if you are looking for privacy, eat upstairs - more formal and quieter.

Visiting the city with a friend, stopped in after a show. Two floors, two kitchens, two atmospheres. This is the second time I've been there, first time ate upstairs, this time was downstairs. Service was excellent, food was excellent to good (the scallop appetizer and chocolate dessert concoction were to die for), we were both surprised at how reasonable the prices were. I would like a little more space between tables downstairs - but, the bar is there, too, so it's more casual. Upstairs is lovely.

the service was a failure, the waiter screwed up our order, the food was served cold, it was bland and overpriced DO NOT GO TO FIG AND OLIVE IT IS HERENDOUS!!
