  • First let me start by saying we had eaten at Horigans before and were pleased with the food and the over all service. We had planned on meeting up with my son, brother in law and his wife for the fish fry. Knowing Horigans was usually busy for fish fries in Lent, my husband called about an hour a head of when we were going to be there. The young man that answered was rude and told him that it wasn't busy and he didn't need a reservation. My husband let the young man know that we wouldn't be there until about an hour from the time of the call, the person on the other end said "doesn't matter, you don't need one (a reservation) and hung up. So when we showed up about an hour later, the place was packed (as we expected.) We were "greeted" (by a very rude brassy blonde woman who we later found out is the owner!!!) who told us that we would have to wait about 50 mins to be seated at a table. My husband explained to her about trying to call to reserve a table, the "owner" rudely told him "well not sure what to tell you, do you want to wait or not?" At this point I was so angry with how rudely we were being treated, I said no. Then to add insult to injury the incredibly rude owner said to us "yea well maybe you can get a table faster at the Olive Garden." I will never go there again, nor will I ever recommend this place to anyone. The sad fact is, the mediocre quality of the food does not outweigh the rudeness of the staff and owner.

  • We went to Horigan's on a friday night. The place was packed and the energy was high. We had to wait about 45 minutes for a table, but the hostess was so great at her job and the bartenders were so quick with the drinks we did not care. To say that it was the best dinner I have every had is a complete understatement. 2 of us ordered the special (which you should do everytime you wealk in the door) and I just about died with the first bite. The wine selection was limited, but consice and has everything you would want in a wine. The desserts were obviosly made on premise and the service was exceptional. Again, busy night but the server was right on top of everything EVEN the split checks!!WOW!!

  • We were so disappointed by the service we received on Saturday night, July 19th 2008 at Horigan's Pub at approximately 7 pm. We had wanted to go there for many years, have heard wonderful things about it, and finally made it. The food took about as long as expected on a busy night, the entree meal's arrived quite close on the heels of the appetizer though - we would have preferred a longer time between. The food was VERY HOT and was very, very good. The problem was with the server, who was obviously in a hurry. She barely stopped at the table to speak - she was fidgety and moved constantly when there - practically vibrated with impatience. She left the table not once, not twice but THREE times while we were speaking to her. She was rushed, impatient and rude to us - she didn't want to answer any questions and when one was posed, she walked away while it was being asked. Unbelievable that she works in a service industry. The busperson was much more attentive than she was and noticed that we were not being attended to - it seems that she had filled that role before. We were so disgusted that we didn't stay long enough to complain in person - I will contact the manager this week. We likely will not be back to that restaurant and it's not because of the food or the aptmosphere, simply the waitress. I'll take my business to Pierce's, Moretti's, Mandell's or Lib's Supper Club, all proven exceptionally good restaurants in both service and food.
