  • ReviewPasta Veloce is a nice little Italian restaurant in NW Portland. You walk in, grab a menu and seat yourself. A server will come around to take your order. The drinks are self-served from plastic cups out of a soda fountain dispenser--you can also fill your cup with ice water if you'd rather not pay for a soda.

    The food was very good, but then again I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to dining out. They weren't very busy because we ate there at about 2:00pm, so we didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive. The service was average, although there really isn't much for the servers to do since the drinks--including refills, if desired--are self-served. One thing nice thing about Pasta Veloce that I especially liked was the fact that they have to-go cups. They're only about 12oz., but I usually like to get a refill to take with me on the way home.

    One final thing worth mentioning is that I noticed a kid's section of the menu for children under 10 (maybe 12?) years old. It had more kid-friendly dishes like a small cheese pizza or chicken strips, and included a drink if I recall correctly.

    All in all it was a great experience. It's a perfect place for lunch or dinner, and the prices are very reasonable, averaging around $7 to $9 for a meal, plus a couple extra for a soda. I think they offer bottled beverages like juice and tea as well??
